Financial Oversight Unveils Irregularities in Trump Organization’s Disclosures to Lenders

A Trump Organization financial overseer told a New York court that some of the company’s statements to lenders were illogical. Former President Trump owns the Trump Organization.

The supervisor, Barbara Jones, told New York Supreme Court Judge Arthur Engoron that Trump and his gang didn’t appreciate how they communicated information in specified areas. In response to her comments, they will change how they provide information to lenders.

Jones wrote to the court Friday, “To work together better and make things clearer, the Defendants have agreed to fix the issues I’ve mentioned in future disclosures to lenders and to change their procedures based on my evaluations.”

CNBC asked Trump Organization attorneys and officials about Jones’ claims.

In November, a former federal judge oversaw the money issue in a court lawsuit involving the firm, Trump, and several of his children. Letitia James, New York Attorney General, sued Trump and his children’s firm. The allegation claims several financial documents have been altered.

Its court date is October 2. James sought an external overseer last year because she was worried Trump might move his firms’ legal structure outside New York to avoid her control.

Engoron agreed with James’s request since Trump “always lied in all of his [Statements of Financial Condition] from 2011 to 2021.”

Jones told the court the Trump Organization had Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust property. This trust holds corporate and private real estate, hotels, golf courses, and licensing projects and pays debts.

Jones discovered that lenders needed to offer adequate information about several essential duties when she reviewed nine loan agreements, over 75 financial reports, and hundreds of other files.

She “deals with things related to Truth and Donald J. Trump, certain Trust debts, and money that can be returned for golf club memberships.”

Jones said, “The Trust hasn’t always given all the necessary yearly and quarterly confirmations to show that certain financial statements are accurate.”

She stated an independent accounting firm audits the company’s finances annually. These data indicate the company’s assets’ declining worth.

“But,” Jones noted, “the Trump Organization’s financial statements to outsiders and for the same entities don’t always include depreciation.” The attorney general charged longtime thieves. They lied about how the firm manages money.

James wants $250 million, and the Trump Organization is banned from New York. James believes Trump misrepresented his assets to banks, insurance companies, and the IRS. He did this to get better business loans, insurance, and tax rates.
