Tim Roth, Ed Harris, and Jessica Lange are among the high-profile guests confirmed for this year’s Glasgow Film Festival. The Scottish festival officially announced its full 2025 guest list this afternoon, signaling a star-studded event that promises to captivate film enthusiasts.
Roth will attend the festival alongside Japanese model, musician, and actor Kōki, Shogun actor Takehiro Hira, and filmmaker John Maclean for the world premiere of their survival thriller, Tornado, which is set to open the festival on February 26. Ed Harris and Lange will be on hand for the UK premiere of Long Day’s Journey into Night, a new adaptation of Eugene O’Neill’s seminal play, being showcased on February 28. Lange will also participate in an In Conversation event scheduled for March 1.
The festival will not only feature these renowned stars but also include appearances by other notable figures. James McAvoy is slated to introduce a screening of his powerful performance in Kevin McDonald’s fiction debut, The Last King of Scotland (2006), and he will engage in an In Conversation event on March 2. Additionally, Athina Rachel Tsangari will present her Scottish folk horror film Harvest, while Edinburgh-based filmmaker Laura Carreira will introduce the Scottish premiere of her drama, On Falling. Filmmakers Daniel Hoesl and Julia Niemann will also attend the UK premiere of their latest social satire, Veni Vedi Vici.
The Glasgow Film Festival will take place at the Glasgow Film Theatre and various venues across the city from February 26 to March 9, showcasing an impressive program that includes 13 World and European premieres, 66 UK premieres, and 12 Scottish premieres from 38 countries. This year’s festival is set to be a landmark event in the cinematic calendar, highlighted by the presence of distinguished talents such as Ed Harris, ensuring an exciting experience for all attendees.
