attracted attention as she opened up about the situation during a recent podcast appearance.

Stone Discusses Her Multiple Casting Changes

During a June 24 episode of the LadyGang podcast, hosted by Keltie Knight, Jac Vanek, and Becca Tobin, Sharon Stone explained the series of events that led to her leaving “Another Simple Favor.” Stone recounted that she was first hired by the film‘s director after a positive meeting. She later received a call informing her that while the original part would go to another actress, she was being offered a different role in the movie instead.

Describing this call, Stone said she agreed to take on the second part, although she did not disclose specifics about the character or the person who replaced her. According to her, after accepting the new role, she was contacted again and asked if she would mind giving up even that part to someone else, effectively being asked to exit the project.

Stone Reflects on Her Departure and Social Media Reactions

After the last conversation with the filmmakers, Stone ultimately agreed to leave the film. She made light of the experience by referencing recent comments by Anna Kendrick, who plays a lead role in the sequel, regarding her use of ayahuasca, noting that perhaps she should have taken the substance to forget about the ordeal herself.

“I noticed one of the leads mentioning that she couldn’t remember doing the show because she had taken ayahuasca and that made me laugh,”

“And I thought perhaps I should have taken ayahuasca and forgotten all about this situation as well.”

In the aftermath, Stone admitted that although initially disappointed, she came to feel relieved about missing out on the project as controversy surrounded the sequel. Tensions escalated as Blake Lively, also a lead in the film, became embroiled in a public legal dispute with her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director Justin Baldoni.

“I think in a big way I’m kind of glad that I didn’t get tangled up in all of that,”

The Film and Industry Reactions

“Another Simple Favor” serves as the follow-up to the 2018 thriller “A Simple Favor,” which originally featured Anna Kendrick, Blake Lively, Henry Goulding, Andrew Rannells, and Aparna Nancherla. The sequel, directed by Paul Feig, brings in new cast members such as Allison Janney, Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins, and Alex Newell, expanding the ensemble.

Following the film‘s March premiere, Stone attracted attention on social media by leaving a tongue-in-cheek comment under an E! News Instagram post about the sequel. She wrote about having been

“cast and removed from my role unexpectedly for no reason at all,”

signaling her lingering frustration over the production changes.

Us Weekly reached out to the film’s distributor, Amazon MGM Studios, for comment, but received no response. Industry reports shortly after the incident suggested that Stone’s involvement ended over financial disagreements, although Stone focused in her interview on the shifting roles and production decisions rather than contract issues.

Ongoing Repercussions and Legacy

The situation surrounding Sharon Stone’s “Another Simple Favor” exit remains a topic of discussion in entertainment circles, particularly given the film’s backdrop of high-profile talent changes and on-set controversies. Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, alongside Henry Goulding, Andrew Rannells, and others, continue to represent the face of the franchise amid ongoing media attention. The episode highlights the unpredictable nature of casting decisions in Hollywood and the complex dynamics behind major film productions.

As audiences and fans reflect on Stone’s revelations, her comments illustrate the challenges actors can encounter even after being selected for major projects. While it’s unclear how these events will affect future casting or the sequel’s reception, Stone’s experience raises broader questions about industry practices and creative decision-making behind blockbuster films.
