Bobby Deol’s character redesigned after Animal in the upcoming film Hari Hara Veera Mallu, with director AM Jyothi Krisna announcing a complete revamp following Deol’s notable performance in the movie Animal. The historical action drama, starring Pawan Kalyan and set during the Mughal empire, is introducing a new dimension to Deol’s portrayal of Aurangzeb based on this fresh creative vision.
Director AM Jyothi Krisna Reimagines Aurangzeb After Animal
AM Jyothi Krisna, director of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, revealed that witnessing Bobby Deol’s compelling performance in Animal directly influenced the changes for the film’s antagonist. After observing how Deol used his expressions to bring depth to a character with minimal dialogue, Krisna felt inspired to overhaul the role of Aurangzeb to better match Deol’s evolving on-screen presence and stature.
According to Krisna, this process involved transforming Aurangzeb’s background, motivations, and visual appearance. He aimed to create a villain who not only stands out in the story, but also adds emotional gravity to the narrative’s conflict between Pawan Kalyan’s warrior character and the Mughal emperor.
“Bobby Deol gaaru’s performance in Animal was spellbinding. His ability to convey emotion through expressions alone, despite the character’s limited dialogue, truly stood out. I decided to change the arc of his character in our film too and give it a complete makeover.”

Matching Performance to Actor’s Current Persona
Jyothi Krisna explained that the revised script sought to emphasize Deol’s strengths as a performer who thrives in roles demanding subtlety and strong screen presence. The director highlighted how Deol’s adaptability and willingness to experiment were crucial in embracing this enhanced take on Aurangzeb.
“When I narrated the revised script, Bobby Deol gaaru was very excited. He’s an actor who likes to explore different shades and challenge himself. In our film, he looks more intense, and his performance relies heavily on his expressions and presence,”

As a result, the role Boby Deol plays diverges from traditional portrayals of the Mughal emperor, instead anchoring the antagonist’s menace in a more layered depiction that balances physicality with internal turmoil.
