Rare Robert Redford Auction Photo Highlights Celebrity Benefit

A rare Robert Redford auction photo, along with images of other renowned figures such as Lady Gaga and Prince, is being offered as part of Milk Studios’ PHOTO25 event. The auction is set to take place at Milk Studios LA in Los Angeles, with proceeds supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood.

Unique Photographs Set for Charity Auction

Among the highlighted works, the Robert Redford auction photo was taken by Greg Gorman at the home of Sydney Pollack for Time magazine in 1986. Other notable pieces include a Lady Gaga image captured by Tyler Curtis during her appearance at Chicago’s Manor Nightclub in 2008 titled Disco Stick, which opens with a bid of $800. An intimate photograph of Prince, created by Randee St. Nicholas in 1992 while the musician was sleeping on a train in Japan, is also featured. St. Nicholas had traveled to Kyoto for a session at Prince’s request, though her visit ended abruptly due to budget concerns raised by the artist’s management.

Additional Celebrity Images Featured

The auction includes striking shots of Dolly Parton, David Bowie, Dennis Hopper, Divine, David Lynch, Deborah Harry, and David Hockney. A notable addition to the selection is a black-and-white photograph of Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta on the set of Grease, capturing a memorable moment in film history. This diverse collection offers collectors a chance to own singular perspectives on the world’s most iconic artists.

Event Details and Beneficiaries

Bidding for these exclusive pieces is open online, with a VIP preview scheduled for December 9 at Milk Studios LA. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the live auction will commence at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the viewing are available through givebutter.com.

PHOTO25 continues the tradition of Milk Studios’ charitable photography auctions, which began nearly a decade ago. Past events in this series have supported organizations such as STORIES: The Foundation for the AIDS Monument and Project Angel Food.

Support for the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood

This year’s auction directs all proceeds to the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood (BGCH). For over 85 years, BGCH has provided vital programs in academics, leadership, health, sports, computer skills, and the arts to youth in Hollywood and neighboring communities. This auction aims to further empower the organization as it continues its mission of enriching young lives.

By featuring the Robert Redford auction photo and other standout works, PHOTO25 offers not only unique collector opportunities but also a chance to support essential programs for youth development in the Los Angeles area.
