Gwyneth Paltrow’s Skincare Advice Surprises Timothee Chalamet

Gwyneth Paltrow skincare advice made headlines after she shared an amusing story involving Timothee Chalamet during the filming of Marty Supreme. The incident took place as the stars collaborated on Josh Safdie’s latest project, which marks his first venture without Benny Safdie. The episode occurred during shooting, when Paltrow, known both for her acting and her dedication to wellness, tried to offer helpful skincare guidance to her young co-star.

A Well-Intended Tip That Backfired

Recounting the experience on The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, Paltrow revealed the conversation that sparked laughter. She noticed Chalamet’s on-screen appearance, shaped by the film’s makeup team, and remarked,

In Marty Supreme, Timothée has pockmarks, and they made his eyes beady with contacts and glasses.

Suspecting the marks were real, she told him he could try micro-needling as a solution, only to discover her mistake. As Paltrow described, “In real life, he has beautiful skin. He made a comment, and I was like, ‘Oh, you can do micro-needling for that.’ He’s like, ‘This is makeup.’ I was like, ‘Oh, s***.’

She further acknowledged her error, saying,

The makeup was so good that I thought he had little acne scars,

and continued,

Anyway, I think it would be interesting to one day do something like that.

Reflections on Aging and Casting Choices

In Marty Supreme, Paltrow portrays a wealthy socialite and fading movie star, forming an unexpected relationship with Timothee Chalamet’s character, a young ping-pong sensation. Sharing her thoughts on more mature roles, Paltrow commented,

I think it would be really interesting to do something around a story of an older woman. I’m really interested in how women age and how they regard themselves as they age. I look forward to playing older parts for sure,

expressing excitement about these types of characters.

Film Premiere and Noteworthy Cast

Alongside Paltrow and Chalamet, Marty Supreme also features Odessa A’zion, Kevin O’Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, and Fran Drescher. The movie had its premiere at the 2025 New York Film Festival on October 6, 2025, and is slated for a theatrical release on December 25, 2025. Early reviews from critics and festival audiences have been positive.

The story and Paltrow’s unexpected skincare gaffe add a lighthearted behind-the-scenes glimpse to a film celebrated for its cast, direction by Josh Safdie, and lively festival debut. Fans of both Gwyneth Paltrow and Timothee Chalamet can anticipate their dynamic on the big screen later this year.
