How Rachel Brosnahan Mastered the Art of Lois Lane: Insider Tips from Top Journalists Revealed!

Rachel Brosnahan recently discussed her preparations for the role of Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman movie. This announcement comes after she expressed her belief that superhero films highlight the good in people. “I spoke to a handful of really brilliant journalists to help me kind of get inside the mindset of folks who have both worked in a newsroom and on broadcast, which Lois obviously doesn’t but… still helpful,” she told Extra TV when asked about her approach to embodying the beloved DC character. “They were fantastic [and] very generous with their time.”

The movie’s trailer opens with reimagined comic book-style artwork, setting an exciting tone for the film. James Gunn, the writer-director and co-head of DC Studios, previously shared insights about David Corenswet‘s screen test for Superman with Rachel Brosnahan, describing their initial reading as “like magic.” Gunn asserted that Corenswet’s performance as Superman would leave audiences amazed. “He is the movie star that everyone just dreams he could possibly be. And I don’t think anyone really understands the depth of this guy’s talent, dramatically, comedically,” he emphasized.

Gunn elaborated on Corenswet’s abilities, stating, “He’s the best physical action star I’ve probably ever worked with… He’s an amazing actor, and Rachel Brosnahan, people are going to die for her as well.” The filmmaker also touched upon how Christopher Reeve’s portrayal in Last Son of Krypton influenced his interpretation of the character. He explained the challenge of taking the “outrageous concept of a guy who flies around” and making it relatable.

Corenswet further discussed his preparations for portraying Clark Kent and Superman, sharing that Gunn recommended he read All-Star Superman, a comic that presents significant challenges for Clark. “It was interesting having a silent version to look at,” he noted. “I hadn’t read so many Superman comics—I knew the ones that appeared in television and films, but it was great having a silent one and getting the impression from that. So, I drew a lot from that, specifically, for Clark.”

Rachel Brosnahan also expressed her enthusiasm for working on James Gunn’s upcoming DCU film. Alongside other news, Gunn explained that the inclusion of different DC heroes in the project was driven by storytelling. “They fit the story I’m telling. Story always comes first,” he said. He also clarified why Batman and Superman’s origin stories would not be revisited in this film. “I’m not telling Batman and Superman’s origin stories again because everyone knows them,” he added.

Anticipation for the Superman film continues to build as it is set to arrive in theaters on July 11, promising a fresh take on a classic superhero tale featuring the talents of Rachel Brosnahan and David Corenswet.
