Exciting New Additions! Rafi Gavron & Shiloh Fernandez Join Star-Studded Cast of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’!

Rafi Gavron and Shiloh Fernandez have joined the ensemble of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, “The Odyssey,” as confirmed by sources close to the actors. The highly anticipated Universal film already boasts a star-studded cast that includes Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Jon Bernthal, and John Leguizamo. Universal announced in December that the film is described as a mythic action epic shot across the globe using brand new IMAX film technology, bringing Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX screens for the first time.

Homer’s ancient Greek epic poem “The Odyssey” is one of the oldest pieces of literature still read today, chronicling the journey of Greek hero Odysseus as he struggles to return home following the Trojan War. This rich narrative offers a fertile ground for Christopher Nolan’s unique storytelling approach, combining traditional themes with innovative cinematic techniques.

Rafi Gavron is known for his role in “A Star is Born,” directed by Bradley Cooper alongside Lady Gaga. He launched his career in a lead role in Anthony Minghella’s “Breaking and Entering,” opposite Jude Law and Juliette Binoche, for which he received a best newcomer nomination at the British Independent Film Awards. Upcoming roles for Gavron include a part in the Amazon MGM sci-fi thriller “Mercy,” featuring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson. Additionally, he is set to make his Broadway debut in 2024, performing opposite Academy Award winner Robert Downey Jr. in the play “McNeal,” written by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ayad Akhtar and directed by Bartlett Sher.

Fernandez has an impressive filmography that includes roles in “Evil Dead,” “Deadgirl,” “Red Riding Hood,” and “Continue.” His television credits feature appearances in acclaimed series such as “Jericho,” “United States of Tara,” and “Euphoria.” This diverse range of experiences highlights the caliber of talent being brought on board for a project that promises to be visually striking and narratively compelling under Christopher Nolan’s direction.

The announcement of Gavron and Fernandez as part of the cast not only heightens interest in “The Odyssey” but also underscores the film’s ambition to reimagine a classic tale for contemporary audiences. As the release date approaches, fans of cinema and literature alike can look forward to an exciting adaptation that melds Nolan’s filmmaking prowess with the timeless story crafted by Homer.
