Rajkummar Rao has once again proven he’s the cheerleader we all need! The actor recently showed his unwavering support for Saqib Saleem, who is gearing up for his upcoming drama series, Crime Beat. Always known for hyping up his friends, Rajkummar made sure to cheer for Saqib’s latest project—and we can’t help but admire their bromance!
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Rajkummar shared the trailer of the much-anticipated series and gave a big shoutout to his friend. With a supportive message, he wrote, “Shine on brother,” tagging Saleem and adding a heart emoji to express his excitement. Crime Beat follows a young crime reporter who is struggling to make a name for himself. His life takes a turn when he gets a big story about a gangster’s return, but as he digs deeper, he finds himself in a tough situation where both his personal and professional life are at risk.
The series is directed by Sudhir Mishra and Sanjeev Kaul. In an interview with The Statesman, Saleem explained that his character in the show pushed him to step out of his comfort zone and explore different sides of his acting abilities. “It’s a series full of suspense, high stakes, and moral dilemmas. The narrative is full of twists and turns that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how they connect with the story,” he added. The series also stars Saba Azad and Sai Tamhankar in key roles.
Crime Beat will be available for streaming on Zee5 from February 21. The platform shared the news on Instagram, writing, “In a world where secrets are hidden at any cost, he’s willing to pay the price for the truth. #CrimeBeat premieres on 21st Feb, only on #ZEE5 #CrimeBeatOnZEE5.”
Coming back to Rajkummar, he was last seen in the comedy Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with Triptii Dimri. He has several upcoming projects including Toaster, produced by his wife Patralekhaa, which will be released on Netflix. The story of Toaster follows a man who becomes strangely obsessed with a toaster while chaos and crime unfold around him. The film also features Sanya Malhotra, Archana Puran Singh, Upendra Limaye, Farah Khan, Abhishek Banerjee, and Seema Pahwa. Apart from this, Rajkummar will also be seen in the new season of Guns and Gulaabs, Bachpan Ka Pyar, and Maalik.
