Toni Collette Shines in Stunning Silver at Mickey 17 Premiere: ‘It Was Bloody Brilliant’ to Work on This Unique Sci-Fi Comedy!

Toni Collette shimmered in silver at the London premiere of her latest film, Mickey 17. The Oscar-nominated actress arrived dripping in crystals at the Thursday, Feb. 13, premiere of the sci-fi comedy. Collette, 52, donned a silver form-fitting gown adorned with sequins and crystals, creating an intricate hourglass effect as the sequins gathered at her waist. A coordinating cape enhanced her look, giving the impression of dripping sequins. She accessorized with tiered dangle drop crystal earrings and silver floral-designed rings.

Collette’s glamorous hairstyle featured her blonde locks styled in a slick back, half-up, half-down look. Her makeup showcased a soft glam aesthetic, highlighted by a light metallic eyeshadow and a bold red lipstick that perfectly matched her bright red manicure.

At the premiere, Collette shared her excitement with PEOPLE about working on director Bong Joon Ho’s latest feature film. She stars alongside Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, and Mark Ruffalo in this highly anticipated comedy. “I mean I got to work with Bong Joon Ho, are you kidding me?” the actress exclaimed regarding her experience on set. “It was bloody brilliant, all of it,” she added. “I was pinching myself the whole time.” The Emmy winner expressed her hope that audiences “have a lot of fun” watching the film, which she believes centers on the idea that “we all matter.”

The film follows an unlikely hero named Mickey Barnes, played by Pattinson, who finds himself in the extraordinary circumstance of working for an employer demanding the ultimate commitment to the job: to die, for a living. However, each time Mickey dies, a new version of him is generated through a human-printing process, sending him back to a dangerous job repeatedly.

At CinemaCon in Las Vegas in April 2024, Pattinson teased the film and expressed excitement about playing “two very fun characters.” According to Entertainment Weekly, he described Mickey 17 as a character with the lowest expectations of life, yet the world continually pushes those expectations. “It’s like playing an evil brother or twin,” he elaborated, referencing the transformation his character undergoes in the film.

Ultimately, the premiere of Mickey 17 showcased not just Collette’s stunning fashion but also highlighted the collaboration of an impressive ensemble cast. With the film set to hit theaters on Friday, March 7, anticipation is building for this unique sci-fi comedy, marked by Collette’s brilliant performance and the visionary direction of Bong Joon Ho.
