He recalled a scene from his film Roti, Kapda, Makaan, where he employed a similar method. “The scooter was in bad shape. It would take 10-12 kicks to start. The accelerator didn’t work, so we had our own ‘startup’ method—pulling the wire with our mouth while kicking it to get it going,” he said, leaving the audience in splits.
