Chhaava Shatters Records with 38.6% Higher Morning Occupancy Than Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji on Opening Day!

Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava opened at the box office on a very promising note, hinting at roaring numbers with the highest morning occupancy in 2025. The film has surpassed all previous records by a significant margin. Chhaava, which is based on the Maratha warrior Sambhaji, naturally invites comparisons to another notable Maratha-inspired film, Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, which opened in 2020 with an occupancy rate of 22% during its morning shows.

In a remarkable achievement, Chhaava opened with an impressive 38.6% higher morning occupancy than Tanhaji. By 3 PM, Chhaava had already earned 13 crore, positioning it very close to overtaking Tanhaji’s opening collection of 15 crore. This trend indicates a strong and competitive box office performance for the new release.

Additionally, Chhaava has registered the best morning occupancy of the year so far, surpassing the previous record set by Badass Ravi Kumar. Himesh Reshammiya’s film had recorded just 13.9% occupancy during its morning shows. Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava also features a stellar cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Divya Dutta, Akshaye Khanna, and Ashutosh Rana.

With the biggest pre-sales of 2025, Chhaava is set to open with box office collections ranging between 25 to 27 crore. While the box office numbers are based on estimates and various sources, the excitement surrounding this latest release is palpable. Fans and followers of both Vicky Kaushal and Ajay Devgn eagerly await the full impact of these opening weekend results.
