In a significant career move, Emmy-winning actor and creator Dan Levy has signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) for representation. After his departure from WME in November, reportedly related to circumstances with his upcoming Netflix series, Levy’s alignment with CAA had been speculated and has now been confirmed.
Levy is known for co-creating, starring in, and executive producing the comedy series he developed, which is awaiting Netflix’s formal green light. This endeavor is part of Levy’s comprehensive film and TV agreement with Netflix, which also includes his directorial movie debut, “Good Grief.” He teamed up with Ruth Negga and Himesh Patel on the film, contributing as writer, producer, and actor.
Dan Levy rose to fame for his role in “Schitt’s Creek,” the comedy series he co-created and starred in, which swept the 2020 Emmy Awards, earning nine wins. Levy took home four awards for acting, writing, directing, and for Outstanding Comedy Series, a feat that showcased his multifaceted talent.
Levy’s recent achievements include hosting the 76th Emmy Awards alongside his father, Eugene Levy, marking a historic first for a father-son duo. In 2024, Levy continued to demonstrate his versatility with a guest appearance on the final season of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and a role in the Netflix movie “Unfrosted.”
Exciting projects are lined up for Levy, including Legendary’s “Animal Friends,” a hybrid live-action/animated feature that stars Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, and Aubrey Plaza. He will also appear in Paramount’s animated “Smurfs” movie alongside Rihanna and Natasha Lyonne and Kornel Mundruczó’s drama “At the Sea.”
Levy remains under the professional guidance of Michael Diamond and Cora Olson at Range, David Krintzman and Kristi Eddington at Yorn Levine, and Nesma Youssef at 42West. His association with CAA signals promising avenues in his burgeoning career, suggesting an exciting future for the acclaimed actor and creator.
