Mumbai, renowned actor Kubbra Sait, cherished for her roles in popular web series such as “Sacred Games” and “Foundation,” along with films like “Jawaani Jaaneman” and “Deva,” is eagerly anticipating her forthcoming movie, “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,” under the direction of esteemed filmmaker David Dhawan. Billed as a family entertainer, the movie features a star-studded cast, including Varun Dhawan, Maniesh Paul, Mrunal Thakur, and Pooja Hedge.
“I’m really excited,” remarked Sait. “Working with David Dhawan, sir, was a legacy project in my life. I get to work with the ‘No 1’ director. It’s pretty awesome. I can’t speak much about that…” she mentioned, reflecting on her experience working with Dhawan.
Expressing her enjoyment on the set, Sait stated she cherished working alongside dear friends Mrunal Thakur and Varun Dhawan, who was also a fellow acting class student. Their camaraderie added joy and comfort to the shooting experience.
On the sidelines of the Lakme Fashion Week X FDCI 2025, Sait opened up about her connection with social media, known for her “bad dad jokes” reels shared with nearly 600,000 Instagram followers. When queried about self-censorship on social media, Sait emphasized the importance of having fun and staying authentic.
“For starters, I feel you need to have fun, and I have fun when I put those jokes out. Given the environment that you’re in, I’m not speaking about censorship, I feel it’s important that if you say something and mean something, then you stand by it,” she noted.
Discussing the importance of authenticity, Sait asserted, “Unfortunately, we all are missing a little courage, and I’m not saying stand by what you’re saying in a way that it’s you against the world, but it’s you by your own self. That’s two strengths together. I feel there’s a lot of power when you look at it that way.”
The actor’s confidence and charm were evident when she turned showstopper for designer Namrata Joshipura’s athleisure collection on Friday evening. Sait gracefully walked the runway, displaying two distinct outfits: a striking red zig-zag striped ensemble and stylish animal-printed knee-length shorts paired with an open jacket.
Emphasizing comfort in athleisure, Sait commented, “The fabric also needs to be breathable, you need to feel like it’s a nice hug. Sometimes your fabric bites into your skin, and you don’t feel very comfortable. It needs to be buttery, and this is buttery, it’s fun, I like that.”
As Kubbra Sait embarks on this cinematic venture with David Dhawan, audiences eagerly await what promises to be a memorable film that beautifully blends family values and entertainment. With a talented ensemble alongside her, Sait’s participation in this project underscores the significant impact it holds in her acting career, marking a thrilling chapter that retains a rich legacy while setting the stage for future accomplishments.
