Salman Khan, known for his generosity both on and off the screen, has once again demonstrated his selfless nature by recommending his personal trainer, Rakkesh R Uddiyar, to actor Ram Charan. This gesture played a pivotal role in Ram Charan’s physical transformation for his film Dhruva, highlighting Salman’s magnanimity in the industry.
In an exclusive interview with Live Mint, Rakkesh shared the story of how Salman recommended him to various celebrities, including Ram Charan and Aamir Khan. As Rakkesh recalls, in 2013, Salman personally suggested him to Ram Charan, stating, “Salman personally recommends me to his good friends. He sent me to Ram Charan.” The transformation required for Dhruva was significant, and Rakkesh dedicated his efforts entirely to helping Ram Charan achieve the desired results. So successful was his training that Ram Charan now prefers not to train with anyone else.
Despite being based in Hyderabad, Rakkesh manages his time efficiently, coaching Salman Khan remotely and occasionally traveling to Mumbai when necessary. He runs the Rakkesh R Uddiyar Fitness Academy with locations in Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. “When required, I travel to Mumbai,” he mentioned, emphasizing his commitment to Salman’s training regime.
The trainer revealed a deep sense of loyalty to Salman, stating, “I told my other celebrity clients that if Salman calls me, then I would have to go. There is no way I can say no to him when he wants me. He is my first priority.” Such admiration and respect for Salman seem to be common among those who work with him, with Rakkesh likening their relationship to that of a family.
Rakkesh’s journey from humble beginnings to a successful career is akin to a Bollywood narrative. Arbaaz Khan, Salman’s brother, played a crucial role in his professional breakthrough. “My breakthrough came through Arbaaz Khan. I respect Salman Khan, but Arbaaz is like family to me. It’s never just a trainer-client relationship; they are more like family,” Rakkesh expressed.
Beyond professional ties, Salman maintains a personal connection with his staff, treating them like extended family members. Rakkesh highlighted this, noting, “Salman calls me and asks about my family. Who does that? Nobody sees a trainer like that… It’s never about money.”
Salman’s staff exemplifies his dedication to relationships. As Rakkesh shared, “If you look at any staff member at Salman’s house, their minimum journey is 30-40 years.” This speaks volumes about Salman’s commitment to the people around him.
Reflecting on Salman’s influence, Rakkesh recalled an invaluable piece of advice given to him: “He told me ‘Rakkesh tu na tera kaam kar. Mat soch ki kab success milega. It will come to you, without a doubt. Live in the moment.’ I carry this with me.” This guidance encapsulates Salman’s philosophy of working earnestly without being fixated on success.
Salman’s generosity continues to inspire those around him, as exemplified by his thoughtful gesture towards Ram Charan. As the industry awaits the release of his latest venture, Sikandar, Salman’s enduring legacy of kindness remains a noteworthy facet of his illustrious career.
