Salman Khan, a global icon with a vast fan base, addresses the ongoing rumors regarding his work discipline on the set of his highly anticipated film, Sikandar, featuring Rashmika Mandanna. Ahead of the film’s release, reports suggesting that Khan arrives late and lacks seriousness were refuted by the actor himself. In an exclusive interview with India Today, Khan explained that his numerous commitments sometimes lead to a different schedule, but his dedication remains unwavering.
Salman Khan, who has appeared in over 100 films, an achievement surpassed only by his senior peers, emphasized his commitment to his craft. He insisted that constant tardiness or lack of dedication would have hindered such an extensive filmography. “There are many stories about me coming late and not being serious about my work. I have done more than 100 films, more than anyone else apart from my senior actors. It wouldn’t be possible to achieve this if I were constantly late or leaving early,” Khan stated.
The actor elaborated on his structured routine, highlighting the discipline that defines his professional life. He clarified that his workday typically begins around 11:30 to 12, unlike those who start at 6 am, due to various responsibilities such as paperwork, calls, and workouts. Even with this unconventional start, his discipline astride remains unshakeable. Rashmika Mandanna, his co-star, attested to his in-depth involvement on set. “Once I am there on the set, I don’t even go back to the van or even sit. They set up a tent wherever needed, and I stay there,” Salman added, underscoring his commitment to the filming process.
Throughout the conversation, Khan dispelled misconceptions that suggested he doesn’t exert enough effort. The actor conveyed concern that such narratives might deter people from wanting to collaborate with him, thus obstructing potential projects. He shared, “But then what happens with that is you’re scaring people away from working with me. It gives the impression that I don’t have to put in much effort.” This revelation sheds light on the misunderstandings in the entertainment industry regarding his work ethic.
Rashmika Mandanna supported Khan’s sentiments, sharing that her experience working with him contradicted the prevailing rumors. Having initially heard the stories, she noted their disconnect from reality, stating, “He has been there every day on the set. So when I saw this, I thought what I’m hearing and what I’m seeing are two different things. This is the reality and I don’t understand why there’s so much commotion around.” Her statement provides a genuine perspective on Salman Khan’s approach to his work on Sikandar.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar brings together a talented cast including Sathyaraj, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi alongside Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna. As anticipation builds for its release, the team continues to highlight the dedication and discipline that Salman Khan brings to the cinematic world.
