Seth Rogen found himself unexpectedly in the limelight during a televised Adele concert, recalling in a recent interview his surprise at being one of the event’s main attractions. During a conversation on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, Rogen shared how in 2021, he attended Adele’s One Night Only concert, held at Los Angeles’ Griffith Observatory, without knowing much about its nature or the fact it was being filmed.
Speaking to Howard Stern, the 42-year-old actor explained how he and his wife, Lauren Miller Rogen, received a seemingly simple invitation to the concert. “We got a call, ‘There’s an Adele concert, do you want to go?’ We said, ‘Who doesn’t want to go to an Adele concert?'” Rogen recollected with a laugh.
Due to a lighthearted understanding of the event, the couple decided to enjoy themselves pre-concert by smoking marijuana, as Rogen humorously admitted, “We hotboxed the car thinking, ‘We’re going to a concert, it’ll be fun.'” However, the realization that it was not a typical concert dawned on them as they approached the venue and noticed the presence of camera crews.
The surprises didn’t end there. Upon receiving their tickets, the couple was astonished to find themselves seated in the very front row, designated as seats A1 and A2. “I realized, ‘Oh no! That seems very close,'” Rogen recounted, describing the moment they understood they were part of a major primetime special, with a camera rig merely inches away.
The situation left both Seth and Lauren feeling unexpectedly highlighted. “I’ve never met Adele, I’d never even seen her in person before,” Rogen explained, further noting the internal pressure he felt to appear engaged throughout the concert experience. “I think I kept it together, but it was a lot of pressure,” he admitted, reflecting on what Howard Stern jokingly called “the guy they kept flashing to in the audience.”
While the Adele concert moment was unexpected, it hasn’t slowed down Rogen’s booming career. Among his latest ventures, he co-created, wrote, directed, and stars in a new Apple TV+ series titled The Studio, which debuted on March 26. Rogen’s versatility in the entertainment industry continues to captivate audiences, much like his unplanned spotlight at the Adele event.
This memorable experience underscores the unpredictable nature of show business. It also highlights the humor and candidness Rogen brings to his projects, offering audiences a genuine glimpse into his life both on and off the screen. As fans eagerly watch his latest endeavors, they are reminded of the fascinating, often surprising, life of Seth Rogen, and the laughter he consistently delivers to audiences worldwide.
