Salman Khan’s latest film, Sikandar, premiered on Eid after a two-year hiatus, featuring a significant performance by Rashmika Mandanna. Released on Sunday, March 30, 2025, Sikandar experienced a Hindi occupancy rate of 21.60% throughout various time slots. Morning shows started at 13.76%, escalating to 24.00% in the afternoon, 25.08% in the evening, and settling at 23.55% during night shows. Key locations like Mumbai recorded morning occupancies at 21.50%, with evening and night shows reaching 24%. Similarly, the National Capital Region (NCR) saw rates of 21.75% in the morning and surged to 25% for later screenings. Pune showed slightly lower engagement, starting at 18.25% in the morning and rising to 21% for afternoon and evening presentations, culminating in a Rs 26 crore opening.
Despite its robust start, Sikandar did not match the opening records set by films like Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which grossed Rs 31 crore, nor Salman’s previous successes, such as Sultan (Rs 36.54 crore) and Tiger 3 (Rs 53.3 crore). The film’s initial Hindi occupancy was 20.95%. However, it maintains potential for growth in subsequent days, capturing intrigue for its future performance.
Critically, News18 Showsha awarded the film 3.5 stars, reflecting positively on Salman Khan’s commanding presence.
