Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ struggles at the Box Office, falls behind ‘Tiger 3’ and ‘Chhaava,’ earning ₹26.06 crore in 2 days.

Salman Khan‘s latest film, ‘Sikandar’, is facing a challenging battle at the box office, earning just ₹26.06 crore over two days, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. Released ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations, expectations were high due to Salman Khan’s consistent box office record. However, ‘Sikandar’ has not lived up to his previous hits, trailing behind his own ‘Tiger 3’ and Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’, which have already made substantial impacts. Industry experts are observing the situation with mixed expectations as they analyze its performance further.

Despite earning ₹60 lakhs on its second day, coinciding with Eid, ‘Sikandar’ has not achieved the anticipated success for a Salman Khan movie. Comparatively, ‘Tiger 3’, released in the past, grossed ₹70.95 crore on its second day alone, highlighting a stark contrast. While ‘Sikandar’s’ two-day earnings stand at ₹26.06 crore, this figure appears insufficient when compared to potential benchmarks set by Khan’s previous successes, where daily earnings typically ranged between ₹50 to ₹70 crore.

Salman Khan’s past films, such as ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, both surpassed the ₹300-crore mark, set high expectations for ‘Sikandar’. However, ‘Sikandar’ has yet to break any significant records or match initial expectations, falling short of opening day collections of other blockbuster releases like ‘Tiger 3’ and Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Chhaava’, which amassed ₹31 crore on its debut. This raises questions about its future trajectory at the box office.

The movie stars Rashmika Mandanna, known for her box office success in recent hits like ‘Animal’ and ‘Pushpa 2’. Despite her reputation as a “lucky mascot”, ‘Sikandar’ has not yet proven to be a major triumph. Industry experts remain cautiously optimistic, looking forward to how the film performs in the coming days and whether it aids Salman Khan in achieving his long-standing goal of joining the ₹500-crore club.

Prominent trade analyst Taran Adarsh remarked on the situation, stating: “Salman has to deliver the numbers. The pressure is there. Rs. 100 aur 200 crores se kaam nahin chalega,” as quoted in Bollywood Hungama. While Salman Khan remains a powerhouse in Bollywood, the performance of ‘Sikandar’ leaves audiences and industry trackers eagerly anticipating its potential to rally in the future weeks.
