Salman Khan‘s latest release, ‘Sikandar,’ is facing a challenging battle at the box office during its second week in theaters. The film, directed by AR Murugadoss, appears to have lost its initial momentum, struggling significantly in comparison to blockbusters like ‘Tiger Zinda Hai,’ ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan,’ and ‘Sultan.’ The pressure mounts as Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat,’ released on April 10, enters the fray, potentially impacting ‘Sikandar’s’ performance further.
On its eleventh day, ‘Sikandar’ managed a business of ₹1.39 crore net in India, marking a 7.33 percent drop from the previous day’s collection of ₹1.5 crore net. Despite this, the production team announced that ‘Sikandar’ entered the ₹200 crore club within nine days, a claim that doesn’t match the statistics provided by Sacnilk, which estimates a gross lifetime collection of ₹174.50 crore worldwide over ten days.
The film’s domestic collection reached ₹125.50 crore, while overseas earnings amounted to ₹49 crore. These figures were achieved in the absence of any major clashes until Ajith’s Kollywood film ‘Good Bad Ugly’ and Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ hit theaters, further intensifying the competition.
A recent highlight for fans was the release of the song ‘Taikhaane Mein,’ which delves into the on-screen relationship between Salman Khan’s character, Sikandar, and his wife, portrayed by Rashmika Mandanna. A social media post accompanying the song described it as “A timeless love story lost in memories.”
‘Sikandar’ marks the first collaboration between Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, supported by an ensemble cast featuring Kajal Aggarwal, Suneil Shetty, Sathyaraj, Prateik Babbar, and Sharman Joshi.
