He stated that they felt the necessity to release the film in Hindi, allowing it to reach audiences accustomed to Tamil and Telugu films dubbed in the language.
Recognizing Karan Johar’s influence, Gippy Grewal confidently stated, “I don’t think there is anyone better than Karan Johar.” Their partnership was solidified during the initial meetings, with Karan Johar quickly becoming involved through his production company, Dharma Productions, focusing on distributing the film in Hindi. This collaboration has undoubtedly heightened the film’s profile, and Grewal noted enthusiastically that the movie feels larger than life with Johar’s involvement.
Set in the 1840s Punjab, “Akaal: The Unconquered” narrates a powerful story of honor and resilience. It focuses on Sardar Akaal Singh and his village, which bravely confronts a relentless attack led by Jangi Jahan following the death of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh. Alongside Gippy Grewal, the film stars Gurpreet Ghuggi and Nimrat Khaira.
Gippy Grewal’s filmmaking journey began in Ludhiana, Punjab, with his acting debut in 2010’s Mel Karade Rabba. His career flourished with hits like Carry On Jatta and Jatt James Bond. He, along with his brother Sippy Grewal, co-owns Humble Motion Pictures and Big Daddy Films, demonstrating his multifaceted contribution to cinema.
