Timothée Chalamet Faces Career Challenges Due to Kylie Jenner’s Unease with His On-Screen Intimacy

Kylie Jenner is reportedly feeling insecure about her relationship with Timothée Chalamet, especially due to his on-screen intimacy with co-star Gwyneth Paltrow in their upcoming film, “Marty Supreme.” Sources have revealed that Jenner isn’t comfortable with Chalamet filming further intimate scenes, which has introduced new challenges in their romance.

Timothée Chalamet has swiftly risen as one of Hollywood’s brightest stars, known for generating hits with each film he joins. Last year, his portrayal of Bob Dylan in the biopic “A Complete Unknown” earned him an Oscar nomination for Best Picture. His work in “Dune: Part Two” was also one of the year’s most successful films. The actor is currently producing “Marty Supreme,” inspired by American table tennis player Marty Reisman, and directed by Josh Safdie, who co-wrote the screenplay with Ronald Bronstein. The film marks a comeback for Gwyneth Paltrow after her hiatus post-“Avengers: Endgame.”

Throughout the recent awards season, sightings of Chalamet with girlfriend Kylie Jenner suggested their relationship was strengthening. After Jenner’s breakup with Travis Scott in January 2023, her reported discomfort with Chalamet’s professional endeavors, particularly involving Paltrow, has surfaced as a significant challenge. The Iron Man actress, in interviews, has openly discussed the on-screen chemistry she shares with Chalamet, which allegedly has been unsettling for Jenner.

Gwyneth Paltrow has described her character’s dynamic with Chalamet’s Marty Reisman in “Marty Supreme” as “kind of transactional.” During an appearance on The Tonight Show, she recounted the experience of working with Chalamet, noting their numerous intimate scenes. Her statement highlighted, “We meet, and she’s had a pretty tough life, and I think he breathes life back into her, but it’s kind of transactional. We have a lot of sex in this movie. There’s a lot—a lot.” Such candid discussions about film intimacy reportedly make Jenner uneasy.

A source shared with The Sun U.S. that Jenner is unhappy with Paltrow revealing details about these scenes. This openness has been the biggest strain on Jenner and Chalamet’s relationship since they began dating. The source noted, “Timothée has no problem being intimate in movies, but Kylie doesn’t like it. She doesn’t appreciate all the details and doesn’t want him to film anymore. It’s a significant source of tension, deeply bothering them both.”

Despite these challenges, Chalamet seems unwilling to compromise his artistic pursuits. At the recent SAG Awards, he emphasized his dedication to his craft, expressing he’s “really in pursuit of greatness.” The implication is clear—if Jenner wishes to support the relationship, standing with Chalamet in his ambitious journey is crucial rather than opposing his career choices.

Earlier, Life & Style Magazine reported Jenner’s discomfort about Chalamet’s previous project, “A Complete Unknown,” where he starred alongside Monica Barbaro. Known for playing Joan Baez opposite Dylan, their chemistry was notably potent. Even though Jenner trusts Chalamet, Barbaro’s on-screen charisma during auditions had been evident. Nonetheless, Jenner might find relief knowing Barbaro is reportedly dating Andrew Garfield, reducing any potential tension.

Amid the spotlight on Chalamet’s career and relationship, “Marty Supreme” is scheduled for release on December 25, 2025, ensuring his continued presence in the film industry. What’s next for Timothée, in light of these challenges, is yet to be seen, but the tension might influence his career path and personal life choices, given the intricate balance between artistic ambition and personal relationships.
