Alexandra Daddario, the talented 39-year-old actress known for her role in Mayfair Witches, has found herself unable to indulge in the latest installment of HBO’s hit series, The White Lotus. Recently attending the AMC Networks 2025 Upfront & Content Showcase on April 9, Daddario revealed to PEOPLE how her 5-month-old newborn is the reason for this unexpected viewing challenge.
Daddario, renowned for her portrayal of the character Rachel in the first season of The White Lotus, disclosed her struggles during an exclusive interview. Despite being a huge fan of the show and its brilliant creator, Mike White, she admitted, “I haven’t seen a thing because of my baby, which I know sounds like an excuse. So, every time I turn it on, the baby starts crying.”
Welcoming her first child in October 2024 with husband Andrew Form, Daddario announced the joyful news with a Halloween-themed reveal yet chose to keep the baby’s name private. This life change has brought joyous challenges, one being her quest to keep up with The White Lotus, a series that has grown dear to her heart.
The White Lotus catapulted into a cultural phenomenon, partly thanks to Daddario’s compelling performance in the first season set in Hawaii. Beyond her enjoyment of the series, she praised Mike White, saying, “I think he’s absolutely brilliant and I am so happy with the phenomenon that White Lotus has become. It’s such a huge part of my life and my heart, and I’m so proud of Mike White.”
The third season of The White Lotus, set in beautiful Thailand, aired its finale on April 6, attracting a new stellar cast including Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Carrie Coon, and Sam Nivola. Yet, Daddario, though not part of this season, remains connected to the show’s legacy, expressing interest to revisit her role as Rachel if given the opportunity.
Reflecting on potential scenes left unaired, Daddario showed curiosity about cut segments involving characters Piper and Zion but expressed no specific knowledge about scenes concerning her character. Her dedication to both the series and its creator remains steadfast, hinting, “There’s so much stuff that I would love to revisit in my career, and like I said, I’m such a huge fan of Mike White that I would love to work with him on anything.”
The White Lotus has consistently enticed viewers with its engrossing narratives and fascinating characters, including those played by notable actors such as Jennifer Coolidge, Sydney Sweeney, Natasha Rothwell, Jon Gries, and Connie Britton. As the series gears up for a fourth season, anticipation and speculation continue to build.
While motherly duties take precedence, Daddario’s heart seems set on staying connected to the world of The White Lotus. In the meantime, viewers can keep up with all three seasons of the series available on Max, filling in the gaps for those who eagerly await any potential return of Rachel.
