Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ Struggles at Box Office: Day 12 Adds Only ₹ 75 Lakhs to Total Collection of ₹ 107.85 Crore

Sikandar, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, is struggling at the box office. Released on March 30, the film had a challenging second Thursday, earning less than a crore. On Day 12, Sikandar’s collection increased by ₹ 75 lakhs, bringing the total to ₹ 107.85 crore as reported by Sacnilk. Unfortunately, the film recorded an overall occupancy rate of just 9.92% on April 10, reflecting its waning appeal.

In Sikandar, Salman Khan takes on the leading role of Sanjay Rajkot, with Rashmika Mandanna playing his wife, Saisri. The ensemble cast includes Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Anjini Dhawan, Jatin Sarna, and Sathyaraj. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the storyline revolves around Sanjay Rajkot’s mission to eradicate corruption, yet it seems the narrative hasn’t captured the audience as expected.

Salman Khan addressed whether he relates to his character Sanjay, sharing, “Isse main zyaada relate nahi kar pata kyunki agar humko yeh hota toh agar hum Telugu film mein, Malayalam film aur Tamil film mein dekhein jo commercial hits dete hain, yeh wahan par bhi hota hai.” He refers to the grandiose portrayal often seen in Indian cinema, emphasizing it’s not solely a Bollywood phenomenon.

The superstar further emphasized the misinterpretation when people believe in the exaggerated on-screen personas. He added, “They start thinking, I can take on 10 people. No, you can’t take on 10 people. Do not even try it. They will beat the hell out of you.” Salman Khan expressed that he doesn’t view himself as a larger-than-life figure, saying, “Superstars don’t work. You’ll never hear us calling ourselves superstars. You’ll never see that in our films either.”

Sikandar, produced by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, highlights the challenges of matching on-screen fiction with audience expectations. Salman Khan’s insights serve as a reminder of the thin line between cinematic fantasy and real-world perception, hinting at the film industry’s evolving landscape.
