While Apple TV+ faces challenges due to stiff streaming competition and high production costs, the series promises a captivating narrative that truly sets it apart.

Jason Momoa’s career tells a story of relentless drive and ambitious projects, and “Chief of War” reflects his commitment to storytelling. Despite uncertainty surrounding streaming numbers, Momoa’s belief in the cultural significance and vast scope of the series is unwavering. In a conversation with GQ, he passionately revealed the series’ potential impact, describing an epic journey that stretches beyond traditional storytelling. He elaborates on the magic of the series by highlighting collaborations with key “Game of Thrones” talents, who were captivated and fully immersed in the series’ world.

“I can’t get us in trouble with, but there’s someone that I worked with on Game of Thrones who’s very, extremely important, and they came in to help on some stuff and really dove into the world of what we’re doing. And they lost themselves in this world. They came back to us and they were like, did you know this? Did you know that? Did you know this? And I’m like, bro. Yeah. We know this. And he’s like, ‘This is bigger than Game of Thrones could ever be. F-ck dragons, dude—this thing is insane.’ These are real stories. We have so many stories,” Momoa animatedly shared.

His upcoming project is described as a cultural moment, poised to inspire a new generation of storytellers. Momoa, ever the beacon of hope, anticipates that “Chief of War” will empower and motivate younger artists to follow in his footsteps, breaking barriers in the process. His eagerness to pave the way for aspiring talents shines through when he says, “Once this kicks open the door and for our people, for everyone… Anyone who understands the business knows how hard it is just to even get here. And so we can’t tell everything, but we sure as f-ck kicked open that door and now all of the younger kids can rush in there and hopefully they’re inspired. That’s really what we want our people to be stoked on.”

Adding to his list of exciting projects, Momoa is also starring in a highly anticipated film adaptation, “A Minecraft Movie,” alongside Jack Black. Initially dismissed by critics, the project is shaping up to be a cinematic triumph, potentially dominating the box office through most of 2025. Momoa’s Midas touch appears to continue unchallenged in Hollywood.

Beyond “Chief of War” and “A Minecraft Movie,” the former Aquaman star is set to return to the DC universe as Lobo in “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.” He is also working on a buddy-cop action comedy with Dave Bautista and will reprise his role as Duncan Idaho in “Dune: Messiah,” despite his character’s demise in the prior film. Additionally, Momoa will continue his involvement in the “Fast & Furious” franchise with a role in at least one more installment following “Fast X.” He is also part of Ryan Reynolds‘ upcoming comedy, “Animal Friends.”

Jason Momoa’s commitment to his craft and storytelling is unwavering as he takes on projects that push boundaries and spark imagination.
