Shah Rukh Khan‘s renowned Bandstand home, Mannat, is undergoing significant renovation, prompting the superstar and his family to temporarily relocate. This development comes on the heels of a similar situation involving Aamir Khan, whose longstanding Pali Hill residence is also set for redevelopment. With both Bollywood icons moving out, fans and followers are curious about the implications of these high-profile home renovations.
Recent media reports reveal Aamir Khan’s building is poised for major reconstruction led by Man Infraconstruction Limited (MICL). The Virgo Cooperative Housing Society, where Khan owns multiple units, will be transformed into an ultra-luxury complex in the sought-after Pali Hill area. As part of the agreement, current residents, including Aamir Khan, will receive accommodation in the project’s rehabilitation component.
MICL’s Managing Director, Manan Shah, announced that the new building will feature opulent 4 and 5 BHK apartments with stunning sea views. Sources in the industry estimate these homes may cost over Rs 100 crore, with prices potentially exceeding Rs 1 lakh per square foot, according to a Hindustan Times report.
In anticipation of the renovation, Aamir Khan purchased a 1,027 sq ft apartment nearby for Rs 9 crore, a transaction reportedly completed in June 2024. Following the payment of a Rs 58.5 lakh stamp duty and a registration fee of Rs 30,000, this strategic move ensures the actor remains close to Pali Hill during the redevelopment process.
The impact of these renovations on Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, both living icons in the film industry, is substantial. Their temporary relocations symbolize a broader trend of luxury redevelopment in Bollywood’s residential landscape. As these projects progress, they are expected to influence the market, setting new luxury benchmarks and raising the profile of upscale housing in the area.
These redevelopment efforts underscore the dynamic evolution of Pali Hill and Bandstand, attracting significant attention from real estate investors and fans alike. The outcome will likely enhance the local property market and preserve the prestige of these iconic neighborhoods.
