Hugh Jackman’s Easter Bunny Adventure Rises to Netflix’s Top 10 After 13 Years

Hugh Jackman‘s animated adventure, “Rise of the Guardians,” has soared to Netflix’s top 10, landing at the number three spot globally, just as the Easter season concludes. The film achieved notable rankings across 41 countries, captivating audiences with its blend of fantasy and excitement. However, it surprisingly did not make the top 10 in India or major English-speaking countries like the US and the UK. European nations, including Germany, Hungary, Italy, and Switzerland, embraced the film, ensuring its presence on their charts, yet France was not among them.

In North America, Mexico witnessed a rise in “Rise of the Guardians” popularity, while South American countries such as Brazil, Chile, Bolivia, and the Dominican Republic welcomed it into their top 10. Meanwhile, in Africa, only Mauritius, South Africa, and Kenya featured the film prominently. Asia saw the film gain traction in the Philippines and the Maldives, as reported by CBR.

Upon its 2012 theatrical release, “Rise of the Guardians” didn’t achieve anticipated success, resulting in an USD 87 million loss for DreamWorks. Nevertheless, 13 years later, it has captivated audiences, amassing billions of views on Netflix. The film boasts an impressive cast, with Hugh Jackman lending his voice as the Easter Bunny alongside Chris Pine, Alec Baldwin, Isla Fisher, and Jude Law. Directed by Peter Ramsey and written by David Lindsay-Abaire, the film has received a 75% Tomatometer score, while audiences awarded it an 80% rating on the Popcorn Meter.

Although the Easter Bunny, voiced by Hugh Jackman, is a pivotal character, the main protagonist, Jack Frost, portrayed by Chris Pine, takes center stage. The narrative revolves around Frost’s journey and his initial reluctance to join forces against the villain, Pitch Black, who threatens to overshadow children’s belief in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, and other supernatural allies. Whether Jack Frost rises to the occasion remains a mystery for viewers to uncover.

This resurgence of Hugh Jackman’s “Rise of the Guardians” on Netflix underscores the enduring appeal of films that marry fantasy with heartfelt storytelling. As the animated adventure charms a new generation, its renewed popularity could pave the way for more such forgotten gems to find their place in the limelight once again.
