Rajkummar Rao, Keerthy Suresh team up for satirical film exposing flaws in India’s education system

Rajkummar Rao is set to headline and produce a new satirical film alongside Keerthy Suresh, shining a spotlight on the pressing issues within India’s education system. Production for the yet-to-be-titled movie will begin on June 1 in Mumbai, as Rao and producer Patralekhaa push forward with their second major project under their banner, following their previous collaboration on Toaster.

This upcoming film, directed by Aditya Nimbalkar, will use satire and pointed humor to expose the commercialization of education in India. The story follows two passionate educators, portrayed by Rajkummar Rao and Keerthy Suresh, as they challenge the growing trend of profit-driven institutions and advocate for a return to academic integrity and student welfare. The narrative aims to engage audiences by blending insightful comedy with critical reflection, drawing attention to how financial motives have come to dominate the sector.

Shooting will commence once Keerthy Suresh concludes her work on the Tamil project Revolver Rita, with planned schedules in both Mumbai and Delhi. The team intends to complete filming in a continuous forty-five day period, suggesting an intense and focused production process. By collaborating with National Award-winning talent, the project promises to offer both strong performances and meaningful commentary on current educational practices.

The announcement comes months after Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa launched their production company, Kampa Films. Emphasizing the emotional significance of this step, Patralekhaa remarked,

“Launching KAMPA is an emotional milestone for us. Cinema has played a significant role in shaping our lives, and this is our way of giving back. Raj and I are transforming a shared dream into reality by creating a space for fresh voices and compelling storytelling.”

The significance of Rajkummar Rao’s new film lies in its potential to ignite public conversation about the direction and values of India’s education system. By combining relatable humor with social critique, the movie seeks not only to entertain, but also to prompt introspection among students, parents, and educators. As anticipation builds, all eyes are on how this creative effort might influence ongoing debates and inspire change within educational circles.
