Prior to Simbu’s entry into the Thug Life cast, it had been previously announced that his ambitious project with director Desingh Periyasamy would be produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Haasan’s production house.
The collaboration, however, shifted gears when Kamal Haasan opted to make Simbu a part of Thug Life instead. This meant that Simbu’s original film under Desingh Periyasamy was set aside. Instead of letting the project dissolve, Simbu assumed full responsibility as producer.
