Billy Crystal also recounted the profound pain of losing his home in the Palisades fire. He stood on the FireAid stage wearing the same clothes he had on when he fled the flames. Crystal shared a poignant moment, stating that when he returned to the ruins of his house, he “fell to my knees and wailed.” He reflected on how he hadn’t cried like that since the death of his father when he was 15, recalling thoughts of his future without his father. At 76, he faced a similar sadness, pondering, “What is my life going to be like without our home?”
The FireAid concert featured performances by renowned artists like Billie Eilish, Earth Wind & Fire, and Lady Gaga, among others, all gathering at the Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum.
