During the FireAid benefit concert held Thursday night, celebrities including Miles Teller and Billy Crystal spoke about the devastating impact of the recent wildfires in Los Angeles, which claimed their homes. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to the firefighters who risked their lives to combat the flames.
Miles Teller took to the stage to share his emotional experience of losing his Pacific Palisades home, which he shared with his wife, Keleigh. He thanked the first responders for their bravery and sent love to everyone affected by the wildfires. Reflections from Teller echoed a previous statement from Keleigh, who, during their evacuation, shared before-and-after photos on Instagram, revealing the chaos they faced while wishing she had taken her wedding dress with her.
Billy Crystal also recounted the profound pain of losing his home in the Palisades fire. He stood on the FireAid stage wearing the same clothes he had on when he fled the flames. Crystal shared a poignant moment, stating that when he returned to the ruins of his house, he “fell to my knees and wailed.” He reflected on how he hadn’t cried like that since the death of his father when he was 15, recalling thoughts of his future without his father. At 76, he faced a similar sadness, pondering, “What is my life going to be like without our home?”
The FireAid concert featured performances by renowned artists like Billie Eilish, Earth Wind & Fire, and Lady Gaga, among others, all gathering at the Intuit Dome and the Kia Forum. The event aimed to raise funds for those affected by the devastating wildfires that struck the city, bringing together a community touched by loss and resilience.
