In a lighthearted moment recently shared on a YouTube show hosted by Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa, Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, revealed how he humorously concealed his identity from an auto driver. This encounter unfolded when Junaid, opting for an auto instead of a luxury car, found himself side by side with his father, Aamir, who was traveling in a Mercedes at a traffic signal.
During the conversation, Junaid explained his preference for taking autos despite the wealth of luxury vehicles available to him. “In a city like Mumbai, an auto is the best way to travel,” he noted. He elaborated on the practical advantages, stating, “If I take a car, I’ll get stuck in traffic and have to find parking. It’s just a practical choice. Itna bhi log mujhe nahi jaante (People don’t know me that much). Only once, an auto driver recognized me.” His words underline the everyday choices that sometimes feel more beneficial, even for someone connected to the glamorous film industry.
In a humorous twist, Junaid recounted a specific incident during one of his auto rides from Andheri to Bandra for a rehearsal. As luck would have it, his father was returning from Yash Raj Studios at the same time, and their paths crossed at a red signal. While engrossed in his phone, Junaid didn’t initially notice Aamir rolling down his window to greet him. The auto driver was left astonished when, after the signal turned green, he asked Junaid if he knew the famous figure next to them. Junaid replied with a grin, “Yes, actually, we live in the same area. His mother and my grandmother belong to Banaras.”
This charming anecdote reflects not only Junaid’s humble lifestyle but also adds a touch of relatability to the world of celebrity. Both Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor, who made their Bollywood debuts recently with direct-to-OTT releases, are now gearing up for their theatrical debut in Advait Chandan’s upcoming romantic drama, Loveyapa. Set to hit the screens on February 7, this film is a remake of the Tamil hit Love Today, marking an intriguing new chapter in their acting careers.
