Junaid Khan’s Hilarious Auto Ride: How He Hid His Dad Aamir Khan’s Identity From a Driver!

Despite being the son of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, Junaid Khan prefers traveling by auto rather than in luxury cars. In a recent conversation with Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa on their YouTube channel, Junaid shared a delightful anecdote about how he managed to hide his identity from an auto driver after a surprise encounter with his father, Aamir Khan, who was traveling in a Mercedes at a traffic signal.

When questioned about his decision to ride in an auto despite having access to numerous luxury vehicles, Junaid explained it as a practical choice. “In a city like Mumbai, an auto is the best way to travel. If I take a car, I’ll get stuck in traffic and have to find parking. It’s just a practical choice. Itna bhi log mujhe nahi jaante (People don’t know me that much). Only once, an auto driver recognized me,” he remarked. This reflects his desire for a simpler, more accessible means of travel in the bustling city.

Khushi Kapoor, who was also part of the conversation, admitted that her parents never permitted her to ride in an auto, which further highlighted the contrast in their experiences. Junaid recounted a funny experience during one of his regular auto rides: “Once, I was traveling from Andheri to Bandra for my play’s rehearsal. At the same time, my father was returning from Yash Raj Studios. At one of the red signals, his car stopped right beside my auto. I was busy on my phone when he rolled down his window to greet me, and I greeted him back. As soon as the signal turned green, we moved forward. The auto driver was shocked and asked me, ‘Do you know him?’ I replied, ‘Yes, actually, we live in the same area. His mother and my grandmother belong to Banaras.’”

This amusing story not only reflects Junaid Khan’s humble nature but also provides insight into the dynamics of celebrity life. Both Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor are making their Bollywood debuts with direct-to-OTT releases, Maharaj and The Archies. They are now set to make their theatrical debuts in Advait Chandan’s Loveyapa, a romantic drama remake of the Tamil hit Love Today, which will hit the screens on February 7.
