For many Bollywood actors, working with Shah Rukh Khan is a dream come true. In 2023, the superstar delighted fans with his performances in three blockbuster films: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. While the last movie did not perform as well as anticipated, Vicky Kaushal‘s extended cameo garnered significant praise from both critics and audiences. Recently, during the promotions for his upcoming film Chhaava, Kaushal shared insights about his experience working alongside this iconic actor.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, the 36-year-old actor described his scenes with Khan as ‘intimate’. He humorously added that his heroines might not even be as fortunate as he was to have such moments with the 59-year-old star. Kaushal recounted memorable experiences, including a scene where he pretended to be drunk and shared a lemon with Khan, ultimately leading to a dramatic moment where he died in the superstar’s arms. “This film fulfilled so many of my dreams,” he exclaimed, highlighting the uniqueness of his interactions with Shah Rukh Khan.
Quoted by News18, Kaushal shared in Hindi, “Iss film mein mere itne sapne poore hue hai na. Maine Shah Rukh sir ke saath ek drunk scene kar liya, agle din humne ek hi nimbu chaat liya aur phir unke baaho mein main marr bhi gaya. Itna naseeb toh Shah Rukh sir ki heroine ko nahi milta. Main sir ko mazaak mazaak mein bolta tha, itne intimate aap kisi ke saath hue ho jitne aap mere saath hue ho? Voh bhi kehte, nahi yaar.”
The film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, also stars Taapsee Pannu, Anil Grover, and Vikram Kochhar in key roles. Vicky Kaushal plays Sukhwinder “Sukhi” Singh, a character longing to reunite with his lover, who is trapped in an abusive marriage. This emotionally charged portrayal adds depth to his performance, showcasing his range as an actor.
Looking ahead, after his role in Bad Newz, Vicky Kaushal is excited for his upcoming project, Chhaava, where he will portray Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The film features a stellar cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, and Divya Dutta, and is set to hit theaters on February 14th. Moreover, Kaushal has more projects in the works, including Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War.
