Orlando Bloom has jumped in the driver’s seat for a new gig as the face of Porsche Design. The 48-year-old actor models both timepieces and eyewear in a campaign released this week, and he calls the opportunity “a great honor.” Bloom stated, “From our first conversation, I was excited about the idea of a partnership. I immediately sensed that the Porsche Design team and I share a mutual passion for great design and a similar mindset.”
The partnership highlights how Porsche Design translates the unmistakable design and timeless elegance of icons like the Porsche 911 into lifestyle products. Bloom expressed that the blend of sports car-inspired aesthetics, unique heritage, and exclusive lifestyle truly fascinates him, adding that he is excited to be part of this success story.
Stefan Buescher, CEO of Porsche Lifestyle Group, referred to Bloom as “a perfect match” for the company’s products, praising him for embodying their lifestyle alongside shared values of authenticity, style, and a passion for perfection. Buescher emphasized, “As an acclaimed actor with international appeal and popularity around the world, Orlando will further enhance Porsche Design’s global awareness and positive perception of our brand.”
Among the featured designs donned by Bloom, who has been a long-time Porsche enthusiast, are the Chronograph 1 — All Black Numbered Edition timepiece and the P’8478 model glasses. The watch, created in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche and refined by Porsche Design in 2022, is inspired by the dashboard of the Porsche 911, which also gets a starring role in the campaign. This timepiece continues to be handcrafted in Porsche’s watch manufactory in Solothurn, Switzerland.
The eyewear—specifically the P’8478 model—is part of a broader collection that includes six other sunglasses and prescription styles from the 2025 Porsche Design eyewear line. Crafted from lightweight titanium and scratch-proof polycarbonate, the P’8478 combines innovative design with maximum performance and durability. In total, Bloom models seven designs of the brand’s sunglasses and prescription eyewear.
Porsche Design, established in 1972 by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, is sold worldwide in Porsche Design stores, high-end department stores, specialist retailers, and the official online store. Bloom takes over the ambassador role from Patrick Dempsey and has recently explored his need for speed in the big-screen actioner Gran Turismo. His recent projects also include Carnival Row, Needle in a Timestack, The Outpost, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. This collaboration not only finds a noteworthy ambassador in Orlando Bloom but also stands to reinforce the iconic brand’s appeal among loyal fans and new customers alike.
