Rumer Willis Provides Heartwarming Update on Dad Bruce Willis’ Health Amid Ongoing Challenges

Rumer Willis is keeping fans informed about her dad, Bruce Willis. On Monday, February 3, the 36-year-old actress from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood appeared on the U.K. talk show Loose Women and shared an update on the Die Hard legend’s condition. “He’s doing great,” she stated, although their concerns extend beyond his health to the ongoing California Wildfires. “The thing we’re all kind of the most scared dealing with is just the fires and, you know, wanting to make sure everything’s okay,” she explained, highlighting the strength of their close bond during challenging times. “The way that we rally around each other is so lovely because we really are a unit.”

The Willis family initially announced Bruce’s diagnosis in March 2022, revealing that he had aphasia, a condition that “affects your ability to speak and understand what others say,” according to the Cleveland Clinic. As time went on, his wife, British model Emma Heming Willis, confirmed that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia, which impacts the brain’s frontal and temporal lobes. Rumer’s thoughtful reflections during the interview also shed light on her upbringing with Bruce, 69, and her mom, Demi Moore. She expressed feeling “grateful” for the co-parenting example they established. Bruce and Demi were married from 1987 to 2000, and Rumer praised their commitment to their daughters despite their separation.

“Even when they split up, they created such a beautiful foundation of prioritizing my sisters and I,” she said. “I never felt like I had to choose or that they played against each other. We were a family, and we still are very much a family, no matter what.” This strong family dynamic has also influenced Rumer’s approach to co-parenting her daughter, Louetta, born in April 2023, with her ex-boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, whom she dated from 2022 to 2024. “Now, as I’m working through co-parenting as well, I just feel deep gratitude for the example they’ve set,” she shared.

In a post from October 2024, the Sorority Row star praised her parents’ ongoing support for each other, stating, “I think one of the most beautiful things to witness about my parents’ relationship still is just their love and support of each other,” she told People at the time. Bruce and Demi are the parents of daughters Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 31, while the iconic actor also has daughters Mabel Ray, 12, and Evelyn Penn, 10, with Emma, 46, whom he married in March 2009. Rumer’s heartfelt updates not only provide insight into Bruce Willis’ health but also highlight the enduring legacy of family solidarity during challenging times.
