Sohail Khan’s Team Panthers is set to participate in the upcoming World Padel League (WPL), with the inaugural edition kicking off on February 5 at the Nesco Center in Mumbai. Recently, Salman Khan, the superstar and Sohail’s brother, expressed his support for the team through a heartfelt note on Instagram. Accompanied by a picture of Sohail Khan at the WPL event, Salman wrote, “Tiger wishing my brother Panther and his team all the very best for the wild and the fastest game in the world WPL.” This clever wordplay highlights the bond between the two brothers.

Sohail Khan Entertainment, the production house behind this venture, officially secured the rights to the league last month. Known for producing blockbuster films such as Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya?, Jai Ho, Freaky Ali, and Partner, the company has also organized over 1,000 large-scale events, including the Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards. Beyond the film industry, it has made significant strides in sports, previously organizing ventures like the Celebrity Cricket League and Team Mumbai Heroes.

In a recent statement, Sohail expressed his excitement about the league: “The growth of padel in India is quite impressive, with several of our industry peers also playing the sport regularly. It’s a sport that fosters a sense of community, and with the World Padel League making its debut in India, it will undoubtedly elevate the sport to a whole new level. Team Panthers has got some exciting talent from across the globe, and we are looking forward to a successful edition ahead!” This enthusiasm reflects the growing interest in padel across the country.

The competition is anticipated to be fierce, with the top two teams battling it out in the finals on February 8. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently busy filming for his highly anticipated project Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. This film features a talented cast, including Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj, and is set to hit cinemas on Eid 2025, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

As the WPL approaches, the support from Salman Khan stands as a testament to the bond of family and the exciting future of padel in India. The debut of the league is expected to capture the hearts of sports enthusiasts while showcasing the potential of Team Panthers under Sohail Khan’s leadership.
