Filmmaker and actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut has announced the launch of her first cafe, The Mountain Story, nestled in the stunning landscapes of the Himalayas in Manali. This exciting venture is set to open on Valentine’s Day, February 14, and Ranaut took the opportunity to invite fellow actress and entrepreneur Deepika Padukone to be her first client in a heartfelt video shared on social media.
Earlier this week, Ranaut teased her fans about the cafe, sharing glimpses of it on her official profile. In the Instagram story, she posted an old video featuring herself alongside Padukone, Vidya Balan, and Nimrit Kaur. The clip revisits a roundtable discussion where, during the conversation facilitated by journalist Rajeev Masand, Ranaut revealed her ambition to open a restaurant featuring a world menu, showcasing dishes from various cultures.
In response to Ranaut’s vision, Padukone expressed her enthusiasm, stating that she would be eager to visit the restaurant and be its first client. Quoted in the Free Press Journal, Ranaut noted, “I’d like to open a restaurant where I would like to have the world menu. I’ve eaten all over the world, and I’m carrying amazing recipes. I’d like to have a very very beautiful, little cafeteria somewhere. I’m very good with food.” This sentiment resonates with Padukone, who clearly showed her interest in supporting her friend’s new venture.
Ranaut further encouraged Padukone with a playful message on her Instagram reel, stating, “If walking the talk had a face ha ha it would be me… also @deepikapadukone you should be my first client.” As of now, Padukone has yet to respond to the invitation.

She was last seen in her directorial debut, Emergency, where she portrayed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, alongside notable actors like Anupam Kher and Mahima Chaudhary.
