Get Ready for ‘Deep Water’: The Thrilling New Film Starring Ben Kingsley and Aaron Eckhart Set to Hit Theaters!

Magenta Light Studios has recently acquired the domestic rights to the upcoming thriller Deep Water from Arclight Films, which features renowned actors Ben Kingsley and Aaron Eckhart. Directed by Renny Harlin, known for his work on the Strangers trilogy, this film promises to deliver an intense cinematic experience, showcasing a gripping story about survival against the odds.

The screenplay, crafted by Pete Bridges and John Kim, revolves around an eclectic group of international passengers whose plane is forced to make an emergency landing in the treacherous waters inhabited by sharks while traveling from L.A. to Shanghai. Faced with perilous circumstances, this terrified group must unite and overcome their differences to escape their sinking plane and the frenzy of sharks attracted to the wreckage.

Alongside Kingsley and Eckhart, the film features a talented cast including Molly Belle Wright, Angus Sampson, and Kelly Gale. Deep Water is produced by a dynamic team including individuals from Arclight Films, Gabba Post, Aristos Films, Nostromo Pictures, and Magenta Light Studios, with Bob Yari expressing his excitement about the project.

In a statement to Deadline, Yari emphasized that Deep Water brings adventure, suspense, and intensity to the forefront, notably highlighting one of the most nerve-wracking plane crash scenes ever. “It is the kind of movie that is made for the big screen, and we are excited to bring it to audiences this year,” he stated. This thrilling narrative aims to capture the audience’s imagination, promising an unforgettable experience during its theatrical run.

Director Renny Harlin shared his enthusiasm as well, describing Deep Water as a dream project influenced by the classic disaster movies of the ’70s, emphasizing the spectacular action and unforgettable characters. “Bob Yari and his Magenta Light team have been the biggest supporters of this project since the beginning, and I’m proud to have a wide theatrical release for a movie that deserves to be seen and heard on the biggest possible number of screens across the country,” Harlin remarked.

The buzz surrounding Magenta Light Studios has been steadily growing, with their recent success in the critically acclaimed film Strange Darling. Additionally, this year they plan to release Bride Hard, an action comedy featuring Rebel Wilson, alongside another project currently in post-production. C.J. Vranca, Head of Business & Legal Affairs at Magenta Light Studios, successfully negotiated the deal with Brian Beckmann from Arclight Films.

The release of Deep Water marks a significant moment for fans of thrilling cinema, especially those eager to see the talents of Ben Kingsley and Aaron Eckhart on the big screen. With its gripping premise and a skilled production team, the movie is poised to make waves in theaters, captivating audiences nationwide.
