Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (born 4 September 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman. Rising to fame in the late 1990s as the lead singer of Destiny’s Child, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, she launched a hugely successful solo career with her debut album Dangerously in Love in 2003. Known by nicknames such as Queen Bey and Queen B, Beyoncé is celebrated for her vocal ability, creative reinventions, visual albums, and commanding live performances. Early Life and Background

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born on 4 September 1981 in Houston, Texas. Her mother, Tina Knowles, worked as a hairdresser and salon owner, while her father, Mathew Knowles, was a sales manager at Xerox.
