Bryan Joseph Konietzko (born June 1, 1976) is an American animator, writer, producer, and director. He is best known as the co-creator and executive producer of the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, working alongside his longtime collaborator Michael Dante DiMartino. Together, their creative partnership, known to fans as “Bryke,” has shaped modern animation storytelling. Konietzko has also worked as a character designer at Film Roman and contributed as an artist to the animated series Invader Zim. He currently serves as Co-Chief Creative Officer at Avatar Studios, a division of Nickelodeon dedicated to expanding the Avatar universe through new animated films and series.

Bryan Joseph Konietzko was born on June 1, 1976, in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. He spent part of his youth in Roswell, Georgia, a suburb north of Atlanta, where he attended Roswell High School.
