Eiza González Bio
Eiza González Reyna (born 30 January 1990) is a Mexican actress and singer who first rose to fame in Latin American television before building a strong career in Hollywood. She gained widespread recognition for starring in the Argentine Nickelodeon teen sitcom Sueña conmigo (2010–2011) and later became known to international audiences for her roles in major American films and series. As a recording artist, she has released the studio albums Contracorriente (2009) and Te Acordarás de Mí (2012). González continues to work across English- and Spanish-language productions, establishing herself as a versatile performer in both music and acting.
Early Life and Background
Eiza González Reyna was born on 30 January 1990 in Mexico City, Mexico. Her mother, Glenda, worked as a model, and her father died in a motorcycle accident when González was 12 years old. She has often spoken about the deep impact her father’s death had on her personal growth and her decision to pursue a career in the performing arts. González has one younger brother named Yulen.
She attended two private bilingual schools in Mexico City: the Edron Academy and the American School Foundation. As a child, she also spent time in Trento, Italy, where she has relatives, in order to learn Italian. González is multilingual and, in addition to her native Spanish, she speaks English and Italian fluently and has some knowledge of French.
From 2003 to 2004, González studied acting at M&M Studio, an acting school in Mexico City run by actress Patricia Reyes Spíndola. She later enrolled at Televisa’s Centro de Educación Artística, where she completed two years of a three-year acting course before being cast in her first major television role at the age of 16.
Path to Celebrity
González was discovered by producer and director Pedro Damián, who had previously guided the career of the Latin pop group RBD. Damián cast her as the lead female protagonist Lola Valente in Lola, érase una vez (2007), a Mexican remake of the Argentine children’s telenovela Floricienta. The show debuted in Mexico on 26 February 2007 and was later broadcast across Latin America and the United States. While still attending school, González also signed a deal with EMI Televisa to record her debut solo album.
After completing Lola, érase una vez, González moved briefly to New York City in 2008 to take a three-month acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She returned to Mexico City later that year and, in 2009, appeared in a supporting role in the crime drama series Mujeres Asesinas. She also released her debut album, Contracorriente, which produced the single “Mi destino soy yo” and helped establish her as a recording artist in Mexico.

Early Career (2007–2013)
In 2010, Nickelodeon announced that González would star in the teen sitcom Sueña conmigo, where she played the dual roles of Clara Molina and Roxy Pop. González relocated to Buenos Aires for about a year to film the series, which premiered on 20 July 2010 and became a hit in Argentina. She returned to Mexico City in February 2011 after production wrapped and later joined the cast of the Televisa series Amores verdaderos in 2012. She also filmed the comedy-drama Casi 30 that same year, marking her feature-film acting debut.
In 2012, González released her second studio album, Te Acordarás de Mí, which included the singles “Te Acordarás de Mí” and “Invisible” and peaked at number 66 on the Mexican Charts. On 12 August 2014, she hosted the MTV Millennial Awards at the World Trade Center Mexico City, further raising her profile in Latin American entertainment.
Breakthrough (2014–2024)
In late August 2013, González moved to Los Angeles to pursue opportunities in American film and television. In November 2013, she was cast as Santanico Pandemonium in producer Robert Rodriguez’s From Dusk till Dawn: The Series, a role previously portrayed by Salma Hayek in the original film. The series marked González’s first English-speaking part and was renewed for a second season on 26 March 2014. The show aired from 2014 to 2016 and helped introduce her to a global audience through streaming platforms.
Since 2015, González has landed a series of prominent Hollywood roles, including Darling in Baby Driver (2017), Madame M in Hobbs & Shaw (2019), Nyssiana in the cyberpunk film Alita: Battle Angel (2019), Fran in I Care a Lot (2020), and KT in Bloodshot (2020). She also appeared as executive Maia Simmons in Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) and as paramedic Cam Thompson in Michael Bay’s action film Ambulance (2022). In 2023, she featured in the Apple TV+ anthology series Extrapolations.
In 2024, González was cast in the Netflix science fiction series 3 Body Problem from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, and also starred in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, directed by Guy Ritchie. In 2025, she starred in the science fiction horror film Ash, directed by Flying Lotus.
