He first drew national attention for originating the role of Elder Cunningham in the Broadway musical The Book of Mormon and later became a household name by voicing the snowman Olaf in Disney’s Frozen film series. He was nominated for the 2011 Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical and won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2012 for The Book of Mormon.
