Brennan Cole Poole (born April 11, 1991) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, driving the No. 44 Chevrolet Camaro SS for Alpha Prime Racing. Poole has a diverse racing background that began with Dirt Modifieds and Late Model Stock Cars, progressing through the ARCA Racing Series, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the NASCAR Cup Series.
He was formerly a development driver for Venturini Motorsports from 2011 to 2014, and later for Chip Ganassi Racing from 2015 to 2017. Recognized for his achievements in the UARA-Stars Late Model ranks, Poole is regarded as a versatile driver who has also taken on roles as a spotter, coach, and consultant throughout his career.
Early Life and Background
Brennan Cole Poole was born on April 11, 1991, in Folsom, California, and lived there until the age of seven. He was raised outside of Houston, Texas, where he developed an early passion for racing. Poole earned the nickname "The Bull" early in his career, after charging from the rear of the field in several events.
He graduated from Woodlands Christian Academy a year early in 2008, at the age of seventeen. His family was deeply involved in motorsports, and he began racing on short tracks in the region as a teenager. That family foundation gave him the platform to compete in the IMCA Dirt Modified ranks at Houston Raceway Park starting in 2007.
Path to NASCAR
Poole drove Dirt Modifieds in the IMCA ranks from 2007 to 2008 for his family’s team at Houston Raceway Park. He scored seven wins in 2008 and added the Texas World Dirt Track Championship to his resume. He also ran select Dirt Late Model races alongside his IMCA schedule during that period.
From 2009 to 2010, Poole transitioned to Late Model Stock Cars in the UARA-Stars ranks, driving the No. 5 for Jamie Yelton. He earned the 2009 Rookie of the Year title and the Most Popular Driver Award in both 2009 and 2010. In 2010, he picked up his first UARA-Stars win at Tri-County and went on to score five more victories that season, finishing runner-up in the championship standings.

Early Career (2007-2011)
Poole made his ARCA Racing Series debut at Salem Speedway in 2011, driving the No. 55 Chevrolet for Venturini Motorsports, where he led 31 laps and won in his first start. He ran three additional ARCA races that year in Venturini’s No. 25 car, scoring a pole and a top-five finish at Pocono Raceway.
He also formed his own race team in 2011, driving the No. 7, and won four UARA-Stars races at Hickory, Kingsport, Rockingham, and Lonesome Pine. Poole clinched the UARA-Stars championship at Rockingham, locking the title a week earlier at Concord. He holds the record for most UARA-Stars Late Model Series wins in a single season and the record for most consecutive wins in a single season, both set in 2010.
ARCA Racing Series Breakthrough (2011-2014)
Poole ran the full 2012 ARCA schedule for Venturini in the No. 25 car, earning fifteen top-tens, three poles, and back-to-back wins at Elko Speedway and Pocono Raceway. He finished third in the ARCA points standings that year. He continued running part-time ARCA schedules for Venturini in 2013 and 2014, scoring a controversial win at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack after post-race penalties were applied to the leaders.
In 2014, Poole returned at Pocono Raceway and led 31 of 50 laps, before returning for the next six races as a substitute for John Wes Townley. He scored four top-fives and a victory at Kentucky Speedway in his final ARCA start, though he was later penalized 25 driver points after his Kentucky car was found in violation of the minimum roof height rule. He briefly signed with Team BCR Racing for 2015 but never made a start.
Craftsman Truck Series (2015-2022)
Poole made his Truck Series debut at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2015, driving the No. 21 Chevrolet for GMS Racing, where he qualified fifteenth and finished eleventh. After sporadic one-off appearances with NextGen Motorsports in late 2018, he announced a full-time 2019 schedule with On Point Motorsports in the No. 30.
During the 2019 Truck Series season, Poole earned his first top-ten after avoiding late attrition at Texas Motor Speedway, and later finished second to Kyle Busch at Charlotte Motor Speedway. He also continued part-time Truck racing with On Point in 2020, recording a best finish of twelfth in the Kansas Speedway doubleheader races in July. He returned for a one-off Truck start with G2G Racing in 2021 and additional G2G appearances in 2022 and 2023.
Xfinity Series Breakthrough (2015-2017)
In 2015, Poole was signed to drive in the Xfinity Series for HScott Motorsports with Chip Ganassi, sharing the No. 42 ride with Kyle Larson and Justin Marks. He scored two top-tens and ten top-fifteen finishes during the season. In 2016, he moved into the No. 48 car for Ganassi full-time, finishing third at Talladega after NASCAR reviewed the last-lap finish.
He finished eighth in 2016 Xfinity points, scoring seventeen top-tens and four top-fives. He returned to Chip Ganassi Racing’s No. 48 in 2017, winning his first career series pole at Daytona International Speedway in July, advancing to the Round of 8 in the playoffs before being eliminated after contact with Caesar Bacarella. On December 11, 2019, Poole announced he would race full-time for Premium Motorsports in the No. 15 in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2020, with Spartan Mosquito Eradicators as a primary sponsor. In the 2020 YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on October 4, Poole earned his career-best Cup Series finish, crossing the line eleventh before advancing to ninth due to penalties issued against Matt DiBenedetto and Chris Buescher.
On April 24, 2023, it was revealed on the entry list that Poole would return to the NASCAR Cup Series at Dover Motor Speedway, piloting the No. 15 for Rick Ware Racing. On November 9, 2023, it was announced that Poole would drive full-time in Alpha Prime Racing’s No. 44 Chevrolet in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Finance Pro Plus returned as a sponsor for twenty races, and Macc Door Systems returned for ten races. In April 2024, he nearly won at Talladega, leading the race into the trioval before losing momentum and finishing fifth, marking only the second top-five in Alpha Prime Racing’s history.
On October 31, 2024, it was announced that Poole would return to Alpha Prime Racing for the 2025 season. At Martinsville, he scored a fourth-place finish, the first top-five for Alpha Prime Racing at a non-drafting track in the organization’s fifteen-year history, qualifying him for the Dash 4 Cash at Bristol. On November 18, 2025, it was announced that Poole would continue racing for Alpha Prime Racing for the 2026 season.
