Lucas Fenhaus (born April 8, 2004) is an American professional stock car racing driver from Wausau, Wisconsin. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 66 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing. Fenhaus has also previously competed in the ARCA Menards Series, the ARCA Menards Series East, and the Superstar Racing Experience.
From 2019 to 2021, Fenhaus was part of the Alan Kulwicki Driver Development program, which supported his growth from short tracks in the Midwest to national NASCAR series. A graduate of Wausau East High School, he relocated to North Carolina in 2022 to be closer to NASCAR team headquarters.
Early Life and Background
Fenhaus was born in Wausau, Wisconsin, on April 8, 2004. He was introduced to motorsports at a young age through his cousin, father, and grandfather, all of whom raced snowmobiles on ice oval tracks. Fenhaus began his own racing career behind the handlebars of a snowmobile before transitioning to pavement racing in go-karts and bandoleros.
At age fourteen, he started competing in late model events at State Park Speedway in his hometown of Wausau. Growing up, Fenhaus watched races at the same track and was inspired by Wisconsin short-track veteran Tim Sauter and his success at State Park. He later adopted the No. 4 for his late model, a tribute to NASCAR Cup Series champion Kevin Harvick.
Path to NASCAR
Fenhaus climbed the short-track ladder with steady results in his home state. He captured the 2018 Midwest Truck Series Rookie of the Year award, then joined the Alan Kulwicki Driver Development program in 2019, where he spent three seasons refining his skills and gaining exposure to higher-level competition.

After winning the 2018 track championship at State Park Speedway and the Lodi Memorial, he earned the Midwest Truck Series Rookie of the Year. His selection to the Kulwicki Driver Development program in 2019 helped him secure premium equipment and coaching for the next three seasons.
The 2021 season was a breakthrough, as he captured the Alive for 5 Super Late Model Series title and won both the Slinger Nationals and the Dells Icebreaker. His Slinger Nationals victory also earned him an invitation to the Superstar Racing Experience event at Slinger Speedway, where he finished second behind Marco Andretti and led the most laps.
CARS Pro Late Model Tour Breakthrough (2022)
In 2022, Fenhaus drove the No. 96 Chevrolet for Highlands Motorsports on the CARS Pro Late Model Tour. He won the series championship that season and was also named the CARS Pro Late Model Tour Rookie of the Year, capping one of the most decorated short-track seasons of his young career.
That same year, he tested an ARCA Menards Series car for Fast Track Racing during the series’ preseason test at Daytona International Speedway in January. Although he did not race in ARCA in 2022, the Daytona test gave him his first laps in a stock car and signaled his move toward national NASCAR competition.
ARCA Menards Series East (2023)
On March 3, 2023, Fenhaus was announced as the driver of the No. 28 for the new Pinnacle Racing Group team in the ARCA Menards Series East. Running the full season, he won races at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway and Iowa Speedway and was in championship contention going into the finale at Bristol Motor Speedway.
A crash in the Bristol season finale prevented him from clinching the title, and he finished second in the championship to William Sawalich. Still, the two-win campaign established him as a top prospect in NASCAR’s development pipeline.

In 2024, it was revealed that Fenhaus would make his NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut at World Wide Technology Raceway, driving the No. 66 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing.
