    Ty Majeski Bio

Tyler Brad Majeski (born August 18, 1994) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 88 Ford F-150 for ThorSport Racing, as well as in late model racing. He has also competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, ARCA Menards Series, and ARCA Menards Series West in the past. He is the 2024 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he majored in mechanical engineering, Majeski is also widely known in the sim-racing world as a former world number one on iRacing. His career arc from a dirt kart phenom in Wisconsin to a national touring champion is a story rooted in patience, family support, and a methodical climb through every rung of the short-track and stock car ladder.

    Early Life and Background

Majeski was born on August 18, 1994, in Seymour, Wisconsin, to parents Brad and Susan Majeski. He began racing as a nine-year-old on dirt karts in 2004 at Hi-Go Raceway near his hometown. His first win came on his tenth birthday, and in his first eight races, he had won three features. Between 2005 and 2009, he won five track titles and 84 features, building a reputation as one of the most promising young drivers in the Midwest.

By the time he turned 15, Majeski had captured a national championship in the Mid-American National Series. In karting, he accumulated six national championships, three state championships, and five track titles. In 2009, he placed second in the National Indoor Championship at Batesville, Mississippi, catching the attention of Bobby Waltrip, brother of Darrell and Michael Waltrip. Waltrip arranged a test in an asphalt late model at Hickory Motor Speedway, where Majeski quickly matched the lap times of the regular driver. His family chose to remain in Wisconsin, and he began racing limited late models around the state in 2010, eventually graduating from Seymour Community High School in 2013 and enrolling at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

    Path to NASCAR

Majeski joined the Big 8 Late Model Series tour in 2011, winning three races including a Big 8 feature during the National Short Track Championship weekend at Rockford Speedway. He progressed to Super Late Models in 2012 and raced 27 events across four different cars in 2013. In 2014, he won the ARCA Midwest Tour Rookie of the Year and became the series’ youngest champion, kicking off a stretch of four consecutive titles in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.

In 2015, he was named the inaugural winner of the Kulwicki Driver Development Program and was featured by ESPN as a driver to watch. In May 2016, he joined Roush Fenway Racing’s driver development program and was announced as part of the NASCAR Next class the following day. He made his first ARCA Menards Series start in June 2016 and, in March 2017, announced his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut, laying the foundation for his move into NASCAR’s national touring divisions.

    Ty Majeski Career

    Early Career (2014–2017)

Between 2014 and 2017, Majeski established himself as one of the top short-track talents in North America. He captured four consecutive ARCA Midwest Tour championships, the inaugural Kulwicki Driver Development Program title, and multiple marquee Super Late Model wins, including three Governor’s Cup victories at New Smyrna Speedway. He also made his first ARCA Menards Series starts in 2016 and was named to the NASCAR Next class, signaling his transition from regional star to developing national prospect.

In 2017, Majeski moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, to work as an engineer within the Roush organization while continuing to race part-time in ARCA for Cunningham Motorsports. He made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut at Iowa Speedway, qualifying tenth and running as high as fifth before an accident relegated him to a 34th-place finish. The season set the stage for a more substantial Xfinity campaign the following year.

    NASCAR Xfinity Series Breakthrough (2017–2018)

Majeski was announced as a development driver for Roush Fenway Racing, and the team confirmed he would share the No. 60 Xfinity car with Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric in 2018. In his three-race 2017 slate, he logged his debut at Iowa, returned to the same track later in the year, and closed the season at Homestead-Miami, gaining valuable seat time on a variety of intermediate and oval layouts.

The 2018 season gave Majeski his first real taste of national touring consistency. Across twelve starts in the No. 60 Ford, he recorded his first top-10 Xfinity result with a seventh-place finish at Iowa Speedway. His strong showings at short tracks and intermediates helped him develop a reputation as a thoughtful, mechanically minded driver, even as Roush Fenway Racing closed its Xfinity program at the end of the year, leaving Majeski without a ride.

    ARCA Menards Series Breakthrough (2019)

Without an Xfinity opportunity, Majeski returned to the ARCA Menards Series in 2019, driving part-time for Chad Bryant Racing in the No. 22. He won three of six starts, highlighted by an overtime victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway, a wire-to-wire win at Pocono Raceway, and a runner-up finish at Michigan International Speedway after a late fuel gamble fell short. The performances caught the eye of NASCAR national series teams and set up his next step.

His 2019 ARCA campaign also produced his first Slinger Nationals win, the 100th Super Late Model feature of his career, and continued success at LaCrosse and Wisconsin International Raceway. By the end of the year, Majeski had tied together a resume that blended regional dominance with rising national-touring credibility.

    ThorSport Racing Era (2021–Present)

Majeski joined ThorSport Racing in 2021, running a part-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule in the No. 66, and moved to Sandusky, Ohio, to be near the team’s shop. In 2022, he ran the No. 66 full-time, making the Truck Series playoffs with seven top-fives and ten top-tens. He won at Bristol and Homestead to lock himself into the Championship 4, and although a late spin at Phoenix dropped him to a fourth-place finish in the final standings, the season signaled his arrival as a championship contender.

In 2023, driving the No. 98, Majeski won the playoff opener at Indianapolis and reached the Round of 8 before being eliminated at Homestead. The 2024 season was his breakthrough year. He won at Indianapolis and Richmond, stayed consistent through the playoffs without a win, and then captured his third victory of the season at Phoenix to clinch the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series championship, the first national touring title of his career. In August 2025, ThorSport announced that Majeski would move to the No. 88 truck starting in 2026, replacing the retiring Matt Crafton.

    Driving Style and Strengths

Majeski is known for a measured, engineering-driven approach that pairs mechanical sympathy with smart tire management. His background in dirt karting and short-track ovals gives him a sharp feel for dirty air and traffic, while his time as a top-ranked iRacing oval competitor has reinforced an analytical, process-oriented mindset. He consistently extracts long-run pace, which has become a hallmark of his late-season playoff runs.

    Notable Races and Milestones

His 2024 Phoenix Raceway victory stands as the defining moment of his career, earning him the Truck Series championship. Earlier, his back-to-back Snowball Derby wins in 2020 and 2023, multiple Slinger Nationals and Governor’s Cup triumphs, and his 100th Super Late Model feature in 2020 mark him as one of the most accomplished short-track racers of his generation.

Ty Majeski has compiled victories across every level of the American short-track and stock car ladder. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Highlights

    Ty Majeski Family

    Family Background and Racing Lineage

Majeski is the son of Brad and Susan Majeski and grew up in Seymour, Wisconsin. His father Brad has been a key part of his early racing support system, helping the family decide against moving to North Carolina in 2009 so Ty could finish his schooling and continue developing in his home region.

    Personal Life

In early August 2018, Majeski announced his engagement to Ali VanderLoop on Twitter. The couple has been together since his late-model racing days in Wisconsin. Majeski earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and was the world’s top-ranked oval iRacing competitor from December 2016 to December 2021.

    2025 Season Performance

The 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season represented Majeski’s title defense with ThorSport Racing, and the year showcased his trademark consistency. He remained winless through the regular season but posted enough top-ten finishes to qualify for the playoffs, capped by a five-race top-ten streak entering the postseason. He nearly won at Richmond before a spin with teammate Matt Crafton derailed the run, yet the late-season form kept him in title contention.

Through the playoffs, Majeski recorded a top-ten finish in every race, advancing to the Championship 4 for the second straight year and the third time in four seasons. At Phoenix, he extended his top-ten streak to twelve consecutive races but ultimately finished second in the event and second in the final standings, a strong follow-up to his 2024 championship.

Off the track, ThorSport Racing announced on August 18, 2025, that Majeski will move to the No. 88 truck in 2026, taking over the seat vacated by retiring teammate Matt Crafton. Looking ahead, Majeski will be aiming to recapture the Truck Series crown while preparing for his first full season in the No. 88.
