    CR7 Motorsports Overview

CR7 Motorsports, also known as Grant County Mulch Racing, is an American professional stock car racing team founded in 2014. The organization fields Chevrolet entries across multiple NASCAR development series, with its primary presence in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. CR7 Motorsports is co-owned by Codie Rohrbaugh, Thomas Rohrbaugh, and Larry Berg, and maintains a technical alliance with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing. The team has no connection to the football player Cristiano Ronaldo, who is also sometimes referred to as CR7.

The team currently campaigns the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado full-time in the Craftsman Truck Series for driver Grant Enfinger, while fielding the No. 97 Silverado part-time for Carson Kvapil in the same series. In the ARCA Menards Series, the No. 97 Chevrolet SS is run full-time for Jason Kitzmiller. Across all sanctioned series, CR7 Motorsports has accumulated more than 230 race starts and two victories in the Truck Series.

    Founding and Organizational Origins

CR7 Motorsports traces its roots to 2014, when Codie Rohrbaugh and his family team entered what was then the K&N Pro Series East. With his grandfather Larry Berg listed as the owner, the team fielded the No. 05 Toyota in three races at Five Flags, New Hampshire, and Dover. The organization’s debut at Five Flags produced a thirteenth-place finish, marking its first competitive result in NASCAR-sanctioned competition.

During this early phase, the team also raced full-time in the X-1R Pro Cup Series, building operational experience and establishing the workshop and crew structure that would support later expansion. The switch from the No. 05 to the No. 7 in 2015 was accompanied by a manufacturer change from Toyota to Chevrolet, a relationship that has continued to define the team’s identity.

By 2016, CR7 Motorsports had grown enough to make its ARCA Menards Series debut at Kentucky Speedway in the Crosley 150, finishing thirteenth. The same year, the team added new tracks to its K&N East schedule, including a new event at Mobile, signaling an intentional expansion of its competitive footprint beyond regional racing.

Growth Into NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Competition

The team’s arrival in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series came in 2018 at the UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway, where Rohrbaugh started the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado and finished sixteenth. The number 9 was chosen because the No. 7 was already in use by another organization. Returning later that season at Texas Motor Speedway, the team posted another top-twenty finish.

Throughout 2019 and 2020, CR7 Motorsports built its Truck Series program methodically. In 2020, Rohrbaugh finished third in the NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona International Speedway, the team’s strongest early Truck Series result. The organization worked with multiple crew chiefs during this developmental period and refined its operational approach, which prepared the team for its first victories in 2024.

    CR7 Motorsports Competitive Journey

Since 2014, CR7 Motorsports has progressed from a small regional effort into a multi-series NASCAR operation. The team’s journey has moved from the K&N Pro Series East through the ARCA Menards Series and into the national Truck Series, with periodic entries in the ARCA Menards Series West. Across more than 230 starts, CR7 Motorsports has developed drivers, refined its Chevrolet-based program, and built the foundation for its first wins.

    Early Seasons and Development (2014-2017)

Between 2014 and 2017, CR7 Motorsports established itself across NASCAR’s development ladder. After running the No. 05 Toyota in 2014, the team switched to the No. 7 Chevrolet in 2015 and entered additional East Series events at New Smyrna, Bristol, and Richmond. The 2015 season produced the team’s first top-ten finish, a ninth place at Motordrome Speedway. The team attempted five East Series races in 2016, posting a thirteenth-place run at Mobile before stepping up to the ARCA Menards Series later that year.

In 2017, the team ran an expanded eight-race ARCA schedule under the No. 7. Rohrbaugh finished every race no worse than sixteenth, with the exception of a crash at Chicago that left him twenty-ninth. Two eighth-place finishes at Michigan and Kansas represented the team’s strongest ARCA results to that point and demonstrated improved race pace on intermediate tracks.

Breakthrough in the Craftsman Truck Series (2018-2023)

The 2018 season marked CR7 Motorsports’ entry into the Truck Series at Bristol, followed by a top-twenty at Texas. In 2019, the team attempted twelve races and scored a top-ten finish at Martinsville, working through three crew chief changes during the year. In 2020, Rohrbaugh recorded a third-place run at Daytona and additional top-twenties, including a fifth at Talladega and a sixth at Richmond, signaling competitive growth.

In 2021, the No. 9 truck produced multiple top-ten finishes across several drivers, including Grant Enfinger’s seventh at Las Vegas and a strong eighth by Rohrbaugh in the season opener. Blaine Perkins ran the No. 9 full-time in 2022, and Colby Howard took over the seat in 2023, finishing twenty-fourth in the final standings. Through these years the team built its driver development pipeline while preparing the program for a championship-caliber campaign.

Modern Program and Current Direction (2024-Present)

The 2024 season marked CR7 Motorsports’ arrival as a winning Truck Series team. Grant Enfinger returned to the No. 9 on a multi-year deal and delivered the team’s first victory at Talladega Superspeedway, securing a place in the Championship 4. Enfinger followed that win with a second triumph at Homestead-Miami Speedway, giving CR7 Motorsports its two career Truck Series victories.

Today, CR7 Motorsports fields the No. 9 Silverado full-time for Enfinger and the No. 97 part-time for Carson Kvapil in the Truck Series. In the ARCA Menards Series, the No. 97 Chevrolet SS is run full-time for Jason Kitzmiller, who in 2025 also announced a full East Series campaign in the No. 79, winning the championship over Tyler Reif with top-ten finishes in all eight races. The team continues to operate with a Chevrolet manufacturer relationship and a technical alliance with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing.

    Philosophy and Competitive Strengths

CR7 Motorsports is built around consistency, driver development, and a Chevrolet-focused technical package. The team’s alliance with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing provides engineering support and shop resources, allowing CR7 to remain competitive on intermediate and superspeedway tracks where it has earned its strongest results.

    Key Milestones and Major Moments

Among the team’s most important moments are its 2014 NASCAR debut at Five Flags, the first ARCA start at Kentucky in 2016, the 2018 Truck Series entry at Bristol, the first Truck Series victory at Talladega in 2024, and the second win at Homestead-Miami later that season. The 2025 ARCA Menards Series East championship with Isaac Kitzmiller stands as another defining achievement for the organization.

CR7 Motorsports has recorded two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series victories, both earned during the 2024 season with Grant Enfinger at Talladega Superspeedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Achievements

The team’s two Truck Series wins both came in 2024 under Grant Enfinger in the No. 9 Chevrolet Silverado. These victories marked the first for the organization in NASCAR’s national series and helped Enfinger reach the Championship 4. Earlier highlights included a third-place finish at Daytona in 2020 and consistent top-ten runs throughout 2021 and 2022.

    ARCA Menards Series Achievements

CR7 Motorsports has entered the ARCA Menards Series since 2016, accumulating seventy starts and fielding the No. 97 Chevrolet SS. Driver Jason Kitzmiller has anchored the program since 2020, running part-time from 2021 through 2024 before announcing a full-time effort in the No. 97 for 2025. The team’s best ARCA results include multiple top-ten finishes on intermediate tracks during the 2017 season.

    ARCA Menards Series East Achievements

The organization has competed in the ARCA Menards Series East since 2014 and has made nineteen series starts. The program’s most notable achievement came in 2025, when Isaac Kitzmiller won the ARCA Menards Series East championship in the No. 79, recording top-ten finishes in all eight races and defeating Tyler Reif for the title.

    ARCA Menards Series West Achievements

CR7 Motorsports made its ARCA Menards Series West debut in 2023 at Phoenix Raceway, fielding the No. 97 for Landen Lewis, who finished sixth. The team has continued to enter select West Series events as part of its broader development efforts.
