Emma Stone Kidnapped by Alien Hunters in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Twisted New Movie ‘Bugonia’ – Watch the Trailer

Focus Features has released the first look at “Bugonia,” the latest project starring Emma Stone and directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. This new Emma Stone Bugonia Yorgos Lanthimos movie, set to arrive in theaters in October, brings together a familiar duo for a bizarre, genre-blending experience.

Plot Follows Alien Conspiracy and a High-Stakes Abduction

“Bugonia” adapts the South Korean cult favorite “Save the Green Planet,” reimagining it for a global audience. The story follows two conspiracy-driven friends who, convinced that a high-powered CEO is actually an alien plotting Earth’s destruction, decide to kidnap her. Emma Stone takes on the lead role of the embattled CEO, joined by Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone. Will Tracy has penned the screenplay for this adaptation.

Production Team Gathers Award-Winning Talent

Joining Lanthimos and Stone, both serving as producers, is an experienced lineup. Their respective companies, Fruit Tree for Stone and Pith shingles for Lanthimos, are producing alongside Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe from Element Pictures, Ari Aster and Lars Knusden of Square Peg, and Miky Lee and Jerry Kyoungboum Ko of CJ ENM. This marks another team-up for Stone and Lanthimos after their recent successes such as “Poor Things,” “The Favourite,” and “Kinds of Kindness.”
