Deepak Tijori Reveals Saif Ali Khan, Shah Rukh & Aamir’s Rare Friendship Gesture at Jo Jeeta Sikandar Premiere

Deepak Tijori, known for his work as an actor and director in Bollywood and Gujarati cinema, recently reflected on a memorable moment involving Saif Ali Khan related to the film Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. During an interview promoting his upcoming short film Echoes of Us, Tijori recounted a touching display of friendship shown by Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and Aamir Khan at the premiere of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar in the early 1990s.

Unveiling the Unique Gesture at the Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar Premiere

Looking at a photo from the film‘s premiere, Tijori recalled the special gathering, saying,

This was unique. This is Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Rahul, Sudesh Beri, and Aamir Khan. And this was all, basically, so sweet. You know, I remember it was a scene from my premiere. And I was a struggling actor at the time. The film was Pehla Nasha. So, it was a premiere for a struggling actor. These actors came to the premiere and each of them said a line, like their own dialogue.

This gesture was particularly meaningful since Tijori was then promoting Pehla Nasha, a film where he was still establishing himself.

How Friendship Shaped Support During the Premiere Event

Tijori further explained the significance of their presence, stating,

It was so fair of them, and that kind of thing never really happened. It is the only time ever in the history of Bollywood, exactly, that this happened. They came. So sweet of them, because that’s what friendship was like in those days, which doesn’t really happen anymore. These days, people don’t even go to each other’s premieres. But back then, just to support me, even though we were in the middle of shooting a film, they all showed up at the premiere. It was really sweet of them.

He highlighted how rare such solidarity was in Bollywood both then and now.

Background on Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar and Its Cast

Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, often abbreviated as JJWS, is a 1992 Hindi coming-of-age sports film directed and co-written by Mansoor Khan, with production and co-writing by Nasir Hussain. The film featured Aamir Khan, Ayesha Jhulka, Deepak Tijori himself, along with Mamik Singh, Pooja Bedi, and Kulbhushan Kharbanda. Its popular soundtrack was composed by Jatin–Lalit, contributing to the film’s enduring appeal.

Significance of the Premiere Gesture in Today’s Film Industry

This rare moment of genuine support among prominent actors underscores the strong friendships and camaraderie within the film community during that era, particularly involving Saif Ali Khan Jo Jeeta Sikandar connections. As Tijori’s recollection suggests, such gestures have become less common in current times, making this an important example of industry solidarity that fans and peers continue to cherish.
