Jeremy Renner Confident Hawkeye Season 2 Is Coming Despite Setbacks, Teases More MCU Projects

Jeremy Renner has expressed strong confidence that Jeremy Renner Hawkeye Season 2 will take place despite previous challenges. The actor, who has portrayed Clint Barton since 2011’s Thor, remains optimistic about continuing his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and hinted at upcoming Marvel Studios projects during an interview.

Renner Reflects on Past Challenges and Recovery

Despite earlier concerns fueled by salary disputes and Renner’s serious snowplow accident, the actor assured Empire Magazine that the future is promising. He said,

“end up doing Season 2, and do other [Marvel Studios] things.”

Renner shared his enthusiasm for the role and the people involved, emphasizing,

“I’m always happy to be in that world, man, I love all those guys, I love the character…And I’m happy to do it. My body’s getting ready for something like that. I don’t know if anybody wants to see me in tights, but my body will look good in the tights.”

He noted significant physical improvement after his accident, stating he is now more than 150 percent stronger compared to before. Renner explained,

“Having health and wellness be such a central part of my life, that’s what’s gotten me back. And even as I age, I just feel stronger than I’ve been. I have some issues, and tendon issues and certain limitations of flexibility and mobility, but I spent a lot of time on getting better and stronger, and I wouldn’t if I didn’t get crushed.”

Current Status and Future Possibilities for Hawkeye and the MCU

At present, Marvel has not officially confirmed a renewal for Hawkeye Season 2. Additionally, it remains uncertain if Renner will take part in upcoming Avengers films, including Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, as his name has yet to appear on the announced cast lists. Fans can still stream the first season of Hawkeye on Disney+ to revisit Renner’s portrayal and the story involving Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, Tony Dalton’s Jack Duquesne, Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk/Kingpin.
