Jude Law Shares How His First Star Wars Experience Shaped His Acting Passion – Prepare to Be Inspired!

Oscar-nominated actor Jude Law has recently reflected on how his first exposure to Star Wars has shaped his passion for acting. This revelation comes after making his debut in Lucasfilm’s newest Disney+ series, Skeleton Crew. In the thrilling coming-of-age adventure, Law portrays the character Jod Na Nawood, a Force user who teams up with a group of kids trying to navigate their way back home.

During a recent appearance at MegaCon Orlando, Law recounted the first time he saw George Lucas’ groundbreaking 1977 film, Star Wars. He shared that this experience “definitely influenced his passion for acting.” Law recalled, “My experience was in a decade far, far away. I was about 6. It blew my mind. I was playing with toys and had the bedsheets. I look back and realize it reinforced my acting. It was a massive influence.”

In Skeleton Crew, Jod Na Nawood is not only a Force user but also a pirate captain ousted by his own crew after losing their trust during a mission. As the plot unfolds, the show’s first season culminates in a thrilling finale, where Law’s character faces the consequences of his deceptive actions as a Republic Emissary. This revelation adds layers to the story as the young group of kids—Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel—strategically devise a plan to thwart Jod’s ambitions of taking over their home planet.

The excitement doesn’t stop with Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. After this Disney+ series, audiences can look forward to seeing Law in the upcoming Netflix drama miniseries, Black Rabbit, alongside Jason Bateman, Troy Kotsur, and Sope Dirisu. Directed and produced by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, Skeleton Crew draws inspiration from Steven Spielberg’s iconic 1985 film, The Goonies. The official logline describes the series as following four kids who, after making a mysterious discovery, become lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, ultimately meeting unlikely allies as they strive to return home.

Alongside Law are lead stars Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, Kyriana Kratter as KB, Robert Timothy Smith as the voice of Neel, Ravi Cabot-Conyers as Wim, and Nick Frost as the voice of SM-33. Notably, Oscar nominee Kerry Condon plays Fara. While the first season has concluded, there are hints that fans may not have seen the last of this charming cast.

Despite positive critical reviews, including a 92% Tomatometer rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Lucasfilm has not yet announced a Season 2 renewal for Skeleton Crew. When asked about the potential for returning, showrunner Jon Watts expressed a willingness to tell more stories if given the chance. “Yeah, we wanted to make sure this season had a satisfying beginning, middle, and end,” Watts remarked. “But, if people want to see more Skeleton Crew, we’d be happy to make more.” Co-showrunner Christopher Ford added, “We’re dreaming of it [a second season]. We’ve come up with different possibilities, so never say never.”

All eight episodes of Skeleton Crew are now available for streaming on Disney+, making it a great time for fans to dive into Law’s thrilling journey. This unique blend of nostalgia and discovery not only showcases Law’s talents but also connects generations through a beloved franchise.
